How did you meet your husband?
...partner, fiancee, boyfriend, or baby daddy? We would not have the obsession w/ this section if they didn't have *something* to do with our lives. Want to share? (stories, not husbands)
I knew my husband in highschool and hated him. He was a redneck and I guess you would call "prep" We barely spoke until 3 years after I graduated when we met up in a local bar. It was summer of 1999 and I was slightly intoxicated...we ended up at his house. The next morning I woke up, remembered nothing and had no clue where I was...and who was next to me with HAIR ON THEIR BACK. yeeech. I poked him and made him take me to my car, and on the way he HAD to stop at 7-11 and get a pickled sausage and sprite. All I could smell was that nasty sausage w/ a horrible hangover. I get back to my car and drive home going in my head "I am such a ho, I am such a ho..."
He ended up 411'ing my # and called me that night and said please come over...I thought it was a booty call so it pissed me off, but.
he convinced me he had made dinner. So I get there and he had put some 3 lbs of fozen deer meat (I don't do that mess) and like a cup of spaghetti sauce in a pot and boiled some noodles. I could tell he tried, even though there were chunks of meat still frozen in the sauce when he served it.
That was 9 years ago, and I can tell you he is my life. Didn't take much to woo this girl. We remain complete opposites...I am a licensed wildlife rehabilitator and he hunts any and all living things. He is ultra republican and I am as liberal as you can get. I don't know how we have't killed each other.
jackson's mom> it started years ago when there was an oil spill in the chesapeake bay and they asked for volunteers to help wash birds (the oil would kill them/ they can't fly) and it went from there. I got licensed thru tri-state bird rescue and research and went from there. Not a paying job ;) but it's fun...we get anything from starling babies to great blue herons that we hold in a aviary my dad built until they are ready to be released. We have had some owls that ended up going to the national zoo instead because they could not be released. I also have had the run-of the mill coons, possums, deer, and bunnies. Raccoons are the best, with the most personality.
betwixt>
reading that last paragraph made me actually get HOT. it's the people that send you that s&it that have the problems. screw them! it is the "real people" on here that I like.
edit-lovely, betwixt. I have only got a few "hate mails" and one of which I posted on here...then got deleted...lol. I keep getting reported. They are going to rip me outta here soon I bet ;)

I was waitressing full-time at a pizza place to get myself through college. There was this quiet delivery driver that I had worked with for almost two years but never really spoke to that much. One night we were so busy the store was a huge mess and I knew we'd be there for hours. We were already closed but there were still deliveries and so I asked if I could go on a ride along (which aren't technically permitted.) He was leaving on the delivery and I rode along and we talked the whole time. I just wanted a little fresh air and a break before I had to get back to hours of cleaning but he actually turned out to be a lot more interesting than I ever would've thought.
Two days later, I went on another delivery with him. It had been another busy night where we were already closed and he was going on a five delivery run. Once again we talked the whole time, which was over an hour. He kept getting flustered and lost which he never does but I guess he was a little nervous with me in the car to keep him company.
Two nights later he finally mustered up the courage to ask me to hang out. I went to his house and we talked until 6 in the morning. I was going out of town and had a plane to catch at 8 but I gave him my cell phone number and he called me while I was gone. He called at midnight on New Year's and said "I was thinking I'd like to start my new year with you." He picked me up from the airport and we had our first real date. I was vegetarian at the time and he actually ate fake chicken on our first date. He must've really liked me because he is the biggest meat eater I've ever met and he would never touch fake meat now.
His best friend had just been killed in a car accident and he was in kinda a dark place. We really just clicked though and I watched him be more full of life every day. His family has told me so many times that us finding each other has saved his life.
We hadn't planned to get pregnant until we were both through school. We always talked about adopting in the future and I was on birth control and he had a hernia operation where a few severed things had supposedly resulted in infertility... well don't believe everything the doctors tell you because our son will be nine months old soon. He is our whole world. Having my son has made me fall in love with him all over again. Every day that I watch him making up songs to sing with our son's name in it and naming his toys I just know that this is the way my life was meant to be.

I met my partner when I was 16 years old and he just turned 16. I was at a highschool football game and I saw him walking around and there was something about him that attracted me to him. I am not a shy person by any means, but for some reason with him, I just couldn't muster up the courage to talk to him. I didn't think he was cute at all(but I did't think he was ugly either) but there was just something....fast forward about 1 month and I was into his older brother for a short time. I then find out that while I was dating his brother (for a long lived 5 days mind you, lol) that I had been going to youth group with him all along at our church. That's when, one night, I finally went up to him and basically from that point on, we've talked every single day since. We became immediate best friends and it took me 3 months to actually start liking him. But, that was in September and on December 25, 2002 he asked me to start dating him. Four years later, we find out I was pregnant. Now, 5 years later, we're still together (not yet married which ticks me off, lol but if he's not ready to ask that's fine too cause it feels like we're sure married anyways) and we have an amazing 8 month old son!
Source(s): Oh by the way, I think it's awesome you are a wildlife rehabilitator...how did you get into that job?? I would LOVE to do that. I love working with animals and that just sounds like an amazing job! **Thats pretty cool! I love hearing good stories about people that love to take care of animals. - Anonymous5 years ago
Well dear i think the best solution is to do your homework first about a particular individual and then have a series of chaperones meetings. I mean if you don't want to talk on the phone and you don't want to have too much interference from others I don't think that leaves you with any options honestly. You have to be practical about these matters and do not make it harder than it is. You can meet 1 or 100 times with a brother if that is your wish. Go out with a couple of your peers who are already married. If you get engaged then you can talk on the phone and that's another way to get to know one another. Inshallah I wish you the best.

I met my husband in a slightly unconventional way... My Mom got me the online game Final Fantasy 11. My sister had already been playing it for a year. I hadn't ever played anything like that before, so when I first logged on I didn't even know how to make my cat girl move where I wanted her to go.
The first person I was introduced to on game was a friend of my sister's... A guy that played as girl characters. He approached my cat girl with his cat girl and did the panic motion *which looks like fondling if done at another character*.
That was early Jan 2005. By Aug 2005 we had graduated to Skype voice chat and MSN messenger/web cam. Met in person on Oct 3, 2005. My brother in law warned me he might not smell too good. Lol first thing I told brother in law was "he smells great!". We got married on Dec 1, 2006 and are expecting our 1st baby on July 31.

My dad was in the Navy, and he always told me growing up that I couldn't marry a guy in the military. lol Anyway, I met my husband in high school, but we were just friends. On the night of prom, I got really drunk at a party, and was in no shape to drive home. He was drunk too, but he lived within walking distance of the house we were at so he offered to let me stay there. We honestly don't know when we actually started dating, sometime in the next month or so. 2 years later, I was about a year from finishing college, and he decided he wanted to enlist in the Marines. We got married in May of 99, and he left for boot camp that September. At least I didn't marry a guy in the military like my dad said, he happened to become military AFTER we got married.
My husband was a redneck in high school too. I grumble everytime I have to deal with deer meat that he brings home. He actually took almost a month of leave once just to go hunting. He taught (or tried to teach) me how to gut a deer, but he and my dad just laughed at me the whole time.

My husband and I met in a bar. The funny part was that we were both being designated driver's that night - I was DD for my brother and he was DD for his sister. He called me a few days later and we went to an indie movie at this hole-in-the-wall theater and then he took me out for burgers (I was a little disappointed at first when he said burgers, but the restaurant was awesome and the burgers were amazing!) We were engaged in six months and married before we had known each other for a year. We've been together for 3 years now and have a baby and it has been the most amazing few years of my life.

I met my husband 9 years ago i was a cashier at a local grocrey store and he was a customer that always used to come through my line i never thought any mind to him.then one day he came up to me with a boquet of red roses and a letter smiled handed it to me and walked away,i didnt even get a chance to say anything well then again i was pretty much speechless.i opened the note now mind you i was expecting some poem or romantic saying or something. What do i find but i find you very beautiful and i was wondering if you would like to dance naked with me around a bonfire!and left his phone number.again i was speechless.it sounds real corny i admit but it did peak my interest because i have to say no one has approached me that way before.i waited a few days and since he hadnt been back in the store i guess out of embarrasment i called him,we were friends for awhile then we decided to go on a date and have been together ever since and have 2 children and one on the way.

I had been visiting my parents for the weekend. He had been visiting his cousin for the weekend. I don't drive, so I was taking the Greyhound Bus back to the city. He doesn't like driving on the highway, so he was also taking the Greyhound. He was in a city further north than me so he was already on the bus when I boarded. I was looking for a good seat and it was really crowded --- I hate sitting next to weird people for 2 hours! Finally I saw him and I thought that he looked cute and innocent so I sat with him.
I was listening to music and reading a magazine for about 20 minutes and then my iPod battery died. As soon as I took the earphones out he started chatting with me. We talked for the whole rest of the trip. We found out we are both artists and we had both gone to the same art college. We both love history and architecture ... there was so much we had in common. At the end of the ride he helped me get my bags and he asked me to go for dinner with him. We went and after that we have been inseparable! It has been 4.5 years and I think we need to write to Greyhound and tell them our story, maybe they will feature us in an ad LOL.

Hah, great story!
Mine is neither as funny or interesting as yours though.
I met my husband through a mutual friend when they had a party at their new place when they moved in together. The fellas hosted a party, and when I got there my future husband was well... intoxicated. We had known eachother through the mutual friend, but only through the internet on a chance meeting in a msn chat. Never in a million years did I ever imagine anything happening between us, as I had never met him in person. Hah.
Went to the party with a friend of mine, and when I arrived my husband made me a burger and sliced cheese with a meat slicer so I would have "the best burger ever". Ah... drunken men aren't they charmers. lol Anyways, he did stop drinking as to not embarass himself further he ended up telling me later into our relationship. I wasn't immediately impressed, but we did start seeing eachother a few weeks later and the rest is history! I even started to get worried because he didn't try to even so much as kiss me the first few dates. But when he did... oh wow! LOL Now, I couldn't imagine a more thoughtful and wonderful husband. And, enough with the cheese I'm done. HAH.
Source(s): P.S. He still makes me the best burgers ever! - -Lv 61 decade ago
Mines another drunk one :(
I was at the pub, smashed off my face, drugged up on god knows what, and very under-age.
He was the same, but not so underage (he's 4 years older than me).
I was an idiot...i mean a complete idiot, and was lucky i found him and not some rapist serial killer.
We pretty much started going out straight away, moved in with eachother after a month ( i moved out of my parents house when i was 14 years old, not on bad terms, i had left school and as far as my parents knew i was a great kid who wasnt a druggie)
Anyway, after a year together, we decided we were complete fools, and needed to straighten up, so we did.
When i found out i was pregnant we moved 80 miles up the country to start fresh.
We'll be celebrating 5 years together in a couple of months.
