Why does Yahoo! never reply when I send an email to dispute a violation?

I got a violation with no explanation, and sent an email disputing it, but never got a reply, not even an automated acknowledgement. Does Yahoo just not care?

Yahoo just does not care. They give out violations like there is no tomorrow for no reason other than it's your time to be targeted. There is nothing you can do but live with it. Try to be more careful in how you word things - but even that doesn't matter. If someone that reports a lot or someone in yahoo just has something against you - then you're going to continue to get violation notices. It's not even about the rules anymore. Anyone can make any question mean anything they want - therefore any question on here is open for violation. If all else fails they'll call it chatting. Which is what ALL of this is anyway. SO basically according to their own way of thinking anyone can be given a violation at anytime - because all they have to do is say "chatting". It's called discrimination. But hey who are we to complain? Just get used to the fact that anything you ask can and will be violated if you've angered someone.

I think you are right they just don't care, also think oof the size of the staff they would need. As is it is a one person operation. I know I sure didn't feel a violation was justified and wanted an explanation. Maybe Google needs to start a Q/A and it would be better. I did get a free book bag from Yahoo! that they sent by Snail Mail. I wanted the light bulb.

I disputed 2 violations and it took over a week to get a reply for each. And, all I got was the standard non-answer answer robot reply.

Customer Care? More like Customer DON'T Care.

  • Same problem here. Let's report Yahoo to Ofcom!!

Yahoo have only ever emailed me once before, when I disputed a violation, and they replied months after, and asked me to tell them which question I was talking about. Well, how am I supposed to bloody remember?

So, overall, pointless effort on our part.

Don't worry, you're in the same boat as a lot of us :)

I sent a email and they sent one back, it didn't say much thou.

Yahoo doesn't care in my opinion, otherwise they wouldn't delete innocent questions while the bad ones stay on here.

Plus there is the fact that hundreds of people on Yahoo Answers get violations daily, most of them reply back to the violations and all of them cant be answered that much.

I too have never get a response only on last violation that I got (because of a troll) I got an answer for the first time

I guess they have so many violations that they can;t keep up with the emails??

I'm beginning to wonder if they care myself. With all the clones and stalkers in answers and 360 that are getting reported, I think that Yahoo has just given up. I have always felt that humans should be dealing with the violation reports and not computers.

I don't usually get a reply but I had one this morning and yesterday to violations I have appealed against - I was very shocked cos I have received a few violations and this was the first time they replied

Because they know they're wrong so have nothing to say, i've sent emails back to them but never got anything back, so i don't bother anymore, my violations are always for stupid reasons (when they clearly don't break any rules) I don't think Yahoo does care

  • Out of ten violation disputes, I only received one reply and it didn't say much more than the violation did. No, they don't care.

What would it matter to them if you get violations and maybe, your account gets deleted? THEY will still be here tomorrow.
