Why are black holes considered so mysterious?
People say that we don't know much about black holes, why?

because no one yet ever dared to go near a black hole because a black hole sucks everything in, and it means you will suffer death. As an astronaut visit a black hole, before he would arrive in the event horizon, he will encounter tremendous tidal fores exerted by the black hole. Imagine, for example, that the astronaut is falling feetfirst toward the hole The gravitational force pulling on his leg would be considerably stronger than the force pulling on his head. The astronaut will like be a piece of taffy.
If it wasn't bad enough, every single atom of the astronaut's body would be pulled toward the singularity at the black hole's center. For the astronaut, he will feel like being squeezed by a giant fist.
After being stretched and squeezed by the black hole's gravitational forces, the astronaut would resemble a strand of spaghetti.
If we will send a robot probe to investigate a black hole, the light source of the robot back on Earth would turn to different colors as it got closer and closer to the event horizon of the black hole
Hope I've helped.

The reason why we know very little about black holes is because we have never been able to observe one!
It is believed, and quite widely accepted, that at the centre of a black hole hole is a singularity. Imagine something that is about a gazillion times smaller than a pinprick but with such incredible mass that it's gravity wouldn't even allow light to escape! That is what is called a singularity. It is so dense that it almost literally punches a hole in the fabric of space-time.
It's intense gravity is the reason why we are not able to see them because if light can't even escape one, how will light be able to travel away from a black hole so we can see it?
The reason we know they must exist is as a result of very complex theory in physics and mathematics. We can also sometimes observe the effects of what we think might be a black hole, but that's about as good as it gets!

No one has ever seen a black hole. For a long time the only "proof" that they existed was in the mathematics which indicated that such a thing had to exist. While we cannot see them directly, we can see the areas which surround them. As interstellar gas gets pulled into the black hole its speed increases and it becomes very hot prior to entering the black hole. This heat causes the generation of high energy radiation we can detect.

Referring to the article below and summarizing its contents, black holes are mysterious because we are unable to hypothesize what happens inside of them.
Being unable to directly observe a black hole has nearly nothing to do with it. As it is, we know most of what we do about black holes through advanced mathematics.
The real problem in obtaining knowledge about the interior of a black hole is that a particular type of advanced mathematics has not been created yet. This particular type of math would need to have numbers that are simultaneously less than zero and not be negative and not be fractional and not be imaginary.
Again, it is not a matter of being unable to observe them directly. As it is, we can observe them indirectly by observing what happens in their immediate neighborhood.

Allow me to explain.
A star starts off like our sun. Then it implodes and becomes a red giant. After that, it either becomes a white or black dwarf. The black dwarf will then die and become a black hole. There are alot of theories about black holes. The problem is that the pressure is great and while you are spinning inside it, it will rip you inside out. One major theory is that is travel's between times/ universes.

because their gravity is so great, not even light can escape it. The only way to see a black hole is by looking at the light that is bended by it because all matter bends light.

Ghosts probably. To have the knowledge that spirits are wandering this world with us would be so FREAKY!!! UFOs are interesting too though I must say. And by the way, I hope you don't think that all women desire high heels and silicon. I don't desire either.

They're too small, dark and far away to image, and the pressure in one is so intense the laws of nature as we currently understand them break down. This makes it hard to understand what's going on when there is no information and no theory to guide you.

well first of all YOU CANT SEE IT!!! and if you try to go in an observe it you will be spegettified(which will stretch your body to the form of spegetti) And the ones we can see are usually obscured by a high amount of energy, such has the core of our galaxy
