Is it okay to ask for prayers?

There is a song in regards to this. The lyrics are a plea to the Lord stating "Give me words to speak, don't let my spirit sleep, because I can't think of anything worth saying but I know that I owe you my life" It is by Aaron Shust. Sometimes it is hard to know what to pray for so that can be our plea. God already knows our needs and the desires of our hearts. Just always pray to walk in his will and a stronger relationship with him.

Sure. It's okay to ask for prayers. If you pray for the world, I'll say "Thank You" I'm part of the world AND so are YOU. So, in essence, you are praying for yourself as well.

You can pray until you are back & blue, but God will NEVER hear your prayers if you have not been made into a righteous man.

The Bible tells us clearly that God only hears the prayers of a righteous man. God does not lie...so don't make Him out to be by praying to Him if you are still a sinner!

You first need to rid yourself of all your sins by this heavenly gospel of the water and the Spirit.

So if you have not been born again by the water and the Spirit (John 3:5) then you are not yet a child of God and still a sinner. And a sinner says the Bible in Isaiah 59:2 He will never hear.

Can you hold a bit of a conversation with God? Talk to Him like you talk to your best friend, because He is your best friend.

Lord, touch this person and help them through whatever it is they are struggling with. Help them to realize your friendliness, and give them the grace to be able to come to you with every little thing in their life. Bless this soul who prays for others during the day, and bless them with the grace to feel your presence. Show yourself more powerfully, more real to this dear soul who cares so much for the world and your creation.

When you pray for those who God chose from the world, you are praying for yourself.

Nope it's not okay...

It's either completely ignorant of you to believe that prayer is real or it's rude and selfish of you to ask other people who don't know any better to waste their time praying while letting them think the whole time that they're doing you a great favor.

Yep. It's not like God wants someone to solely concentrate on the world and leave one's own spirit or necessities to perish. I constantly ask for the preservation of others well being before my own, but I include myself because none of us are perfect, and we all need to believe God will help the person praying as well as those around them. It only sounds selfish because we see it as one person asking for help, but those who ask for The Lord's help and guidence for themselves is ultimately asking to be a better human being, and the world needs those here as much as they need God's help.

praying is communicating with God. Asking for forgivness and to help those around us.

Yes it is alright to ask smeone to pray for you, as log as the reason is important and not like to win the lottery.

Actually it IS a violation of the TOE and some folks do report it but... I dont mind one bit... people should be given the right to ask for help any time they need... whether I believe it works or not...
