If a lion was loose in your neighborhood, would you be discussing whether it existed or not? Or would you run?

DO YOU believe that Satan exists? Today, many do not. It seems they view such a belief as “unscientific.” Even back in 1911, the Encyclopædia Britannica said: “Science has so explained many of the processes of outer nature and of the inner life of man as to leave no room for Satanic agency.” Theologians reason that Satan is just a symbol, a myth. The World Book Encyclopedia states: “Many modern theologians consider the Devil to be a symbol of the power of evil, of the worst qualities of human nature.”

If you believe in the Bible, you have to believe that Satan is real. Jesus not only believed he existed but called him “the ruler of the world.” (John 14:30) The apostle Paul called Satan “the god of this system of things.” (2 Corinthians 4:4) And the aged apostle John said: “The whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one.”—1 John 5:19.

Peter warned: “Be watchful. Your adversary, the Devil, walks about like a roaring lion, seeking to devour somene.” (1 Peter 5:8)

The warning is there. The evidence is all around so I would flee to safety. Satan is real and exists. Jesus acknowledged him as the "God of this system, and ruler of the world", as you have cited. One must take in accurate knowledge of the Bible and study it daily to find out how to flee Satan and his machinations. If you let your guard down you may be devoured by this cunning adversary of Jehovah and lose your life. Just because you cannot see the actual person of Satan does not mean he does not exist. Look around at the ungodly things in the world, starving children, wars, greed, pestilence and know that Jehovah is not responsible, but the God of this world, Satan the devil is and he has a short time left in which to cause more havoc. 1 John 5:19. Let the wise one use discernment. Wiley and cunning he is for many here do not even believe the scriptures cited or that he even exists. He is licking his chops anticipating a feast for he has won some over.

WE DO NOT SEE OXYGEN WITH THE NAKED EYE BUT DO WE DENY ITS EXISTENCE????

THE ANSWER IS NO!! we do not deny Oxygen because we daily feel its effects...although oxygen can be seen through microscopic/scientific study the devil/satan can be seen through world events and through the study of the bible.

I agree with "granny" as it is evident that christians and especially Jehovahs Witnesses have studied enough to look beyond the bare analogy and depict it deeper into realizing that a lion may be an animal and not pose as a threat to everything but overall it is symbolized as a stalking predator that preys on the weak. (Thus showing how non-christians lack in overall reasoning) The point is clear that around the world today from Atheism to Zodiacs that Satan is real...he simply uses various tactics to lure his prey such as how a lion would when roaring in order to scare, lure and confuse his prey. Satan does exist, whether the idea conforms to scientific evidence or not (seeing how the study of science is manipulated in order to deny any spiritual life and support evolution etc.) and in order to convince non-believers it would take more than to discuss scriptures from a bible that factually emphasizes Satans existence, it would take for them to study it and learn that humans alone can not govern themselves and therefore there is a influenced spiritual force behind the actions that we may take or may not take. Unfortunately, in the worst case scenario for those who deny Satan's existence they will be devoured like the one who denies the clear presence of a "roaring lion"...thus it will probably be too late to understand the truth until the truth of the matter and all its related consequences finds them.

    Discussing it.

    I know a few things:

#1. European Badgers and Lions do not usually encounter each other due to living in radically different parts of the world and different ecosystems. I, through my exposure to human discovery, know what a lion is. Most badgers, if told about a loose "lion", would immediately question what it was due primarily to not knowing.

#2. Lions are larger than Badgers. Setts, made for Badgers by Badgers, are Badger-sized. A lion could not get any more than its head into our home... and aren't very suited to digging. Therefore a sett is a safe place to hide from a lion, rendering "running" unnecessary.

#3. Even if outside, running would be futile. Lions run faster than humans and definitely faster than Badgers. Humans operate better when standing still and given the time to consider "using" their surroundings. Badgers are generally better off hiding and / or digging. The action of running would give the lion the advantage and is thus inadvisable.

#4. Lions don't generally hunt alone. Lions are social animals, and if there is only one lion then it must be in an unfavourable position. It is unlikely to go looking for trouble unless exceedingly hungry, and even then it is off its usual game. "Neighbourhood" implies a social setting with many individuals, which given social creatures implies the home advantage. The lion under these circumstances is, in fact, the vulnerable target. A lion loose in a human neighbourhood... alone... is probably a very scared lion and is more interested in getting home or hiding than attacking people at random.

So now I have a question to level at you:

If a lion was NOT loose in your neighbourhood, would you be discussing whether it existed or not.... or would you be running away from an absent lion?

Funny you should mention this about lions, because in 1977 there was a carnival in the field behind my house and I was walking from the woods to my house across the field. As I was walking, I noticed this huge Nubian man walking towards me and waving his arms. I plodded along (how the hell was I supposed to know that a full grown lion was crouching not more than sixty feet away from me in the grass?), and then I saw him pointing to a place just in front of me. I stopped and looked real hard until I spotted its head through the weeds. I froze- utterly still. The Nubian man came to where I was and told me to not move until he got the leash and rope around the lion's neck. Believe me - I did not run or make any sudden moves at all until he had the lion (which I was petting an hour later; it was "tame") under his complete control.

That Nubian man was twice the size of Hulk Hogan. I honestly don't believe the lion would've been a match for a man that gargantuan in size. His biceps were absolutely massive. I was more afraid of him than the lion!

Would Satan have done that for me? I doubt it. I would've been "Roman bait" for sure.

Which is to say your analogy is not working at all.

Let me tell you something. If you believe that houses are haunted then you believe in demons...Because ghosts are just that .........demons.

They don't play...they are out to kill us all. They could have killed Job but God said not to...so they made him so miserable he wanted to die.

Whoever values their life and well being better look like believing and quick!

they never sleep and there are millions of them just looking to lead you astray ...most of the world is lying in the power of the wicked one..he even tempted Jesus..he watches us and knows what works..he'll try porn, materialism, your kids, your friends..whatever he can do to turn you against God..he has you!...then once he does he will crash you to the ground..all he wanted was for you to worship him...just once.....

Keep an eye on your children...he knows how to get to them

If a lion is set loose in my neighbourhood, first of all I would be able to see and hear it. Never the case with the devil. I haven't seen or heard the devil anywhere.

Second, I would run like feck, because if I can see and hear it I would immediately assume it is a real threat.

Once I'm in a safe place I will decide whether or not the lion was real.

... If I can't see or hear the lion, I might go looking for it. If my search comes up with nothing, I will simply decide that the lion doesn't exist and that I was chasing ghosts.

I sure would not be discussing the fact. I would lock my doors and start praying for Gods' protection on me, my house and my neighbors. If it is satanic no amount of running would help. Jesus and His love and mercy is all we would need. So no, I would not run nor discuss anything. PRAY PRAY PRAY and believe in Jesus is all I'd do.

Believing in satan, santa or any other anagrams is NOT the same as believing a lion is loose in the street.

You can see, hear, smell and if you're unlucky, get bitten by a lion

Whereas satan is a figment of your imagination, made up to provide a convenient scapegoat to explain why people do bad things.

Where your analogy fails utterly is here:

There is a precedent for lions really and actually existing in the world.

The same can not be said for your god or devil -- or are you conceding that all the other gods, from all the other religions that were worshipped all over the world throughout the millennia, are also real?
