Taurus raging bull 44 mag ?

I have a raging bull 44 mag with a 8 inch barrel, I am looking to mount a scope on it. It is not drilled and tapped, do the mounts that mount on the rib work real well? (not come loose under all that pressure of fireing) also where can I find them. Also I am looking for a trijicon style front sight and have not been able to find one any help would be appreciated.

If properly tightened and loc-tite applied, it will hold. However, that type of scope mount will mar the rib. I recommend that you have a gunsmith drill and tap the pistol for a weaver style scope mount. It will not be that expensive and then the mount can be removed if you wish and matching set screws placed in the holes. Check midwayusa.com for the trijicon site.

Mark answered the part of your question that I don't know the answer to. The part I can tell you about is the rib mounts. I just shot my buddies raging bull 2 days ago for the first time and he just installed the rib mounts this week. They were easy to install and didn't move with the 80 rounds of hand loads we put through it at the range. This included about 25 or so rounds loaded with 16.4 grains, which was a pretty hot load. The scope stayed on target and I was punching 6 shot groups that I could easily cover with the end of my thumb at 10 yards. I believe he bought his mounts on e-bay. All that being said, I still like the advice Mark gave you about getting your gun tapped by a gun smith. He gave several good reasons for his answers. If I owned one I would have it tapped but I wanted to let you know about my experience with the rib mounts (great!) in case you wanted to go that direction.

I have a scope mounted on the top rib of my .454 Casul Raging Bull and have never had any problems with it.

I don't know if there is a Trijicon front sight made for the Raging Bull but take a look at www.midwayusa.com or www.brownells.com or look up the website for Midsouth Shooter's Supply. If such a sight exists, one of these folks will have it.
