Diesel tastes pretty good.

I think that, while both have a very pleasant bouquet, the regular has heavy, earthy tones. This fine quality fuel has a burnished gold color, deep complex nose of ripe mango and apricot and rich, viscous flavors that are more like nectarines and apricots. The oil is sweet (22.8% residual), silky and with good length and the reasonable price per gallon allows for a taste of one of the world's true limited octane treasures.
The high octane supreme gasoline from Saudi Arabia's historic oilfields--some of the derricks are over 30 years old--have yielded vintage petroleum that is, well, pretty classic, with rich ruby color and a spicy aroma loaded with black pepper, and licorice/ dry fennel . That spiciness, especially the fennel, carries all the way through a long, satisfying drive home. The petrol is generous and chewy without being overwhelmingly dense, which is one reason it's such a good food petroleum product.

They have different octane numbers. The higher grades of gas have more octane in them. That makes the gas less explosive under pressure. So you're able to use the gas in high compression engines(generally also high performance engines) with maximum effectiveness. It stops what's called "knock" when the gas detonates before it is supposed to. If you put it in a car that doesn't need it(or isn't tuned for it) then it could actually hamper that car since it will explode at the wrong time in that car also(too late instead of on time).
