WHo AGREES WITH ME?

Buddhism and Hinduism makes a lot of sense. God is inside everyone and everything. The key to truth and happiness is within. I was an atheist until I had my first psychedelic experience. I think that 99% of world is brainwashed..religioious or not. We are living in the illusion of seperation. The real problem with the world is not religion, but goverment and society. We could feed the world over, if we break free of the corrupt systsem. a system that says it is jusifired that millions starve while others have millions more then they need. Actually, I'm against drugs being legalised (*Cough* Not *Cough*), and this is why... Last weekend, my friend and I went to a farm, took some mushrooms, and we sat in a field, we looked up into the sky, and saw 'God,' she told me that there is nothing to fear, that she loves every single creature on this planet, and she showered gifts of forgiveness and love onto the earth, and I realised that there was nothing to fear, and I loved everything...Now, if that isn't a bad thing for this country, I don't know what is. How can we continue to make weapons if we love everything?

Your first statement bothers me some, since, if you notice, non religious people are usually the ones starting obnoxious questions and the ones trying to shove their religion down everyone elses throats.

This is my opinion, and, since we're closer in age than most of the people on here, hear me out, since I can relate to you.

Christians (such as myself) do believe that God is there as a leader.

(We actually use the example of him being a shepherd and us being sheep)

But we also believe that God gives us freewill and that he allows us to do whatever we want.

We are not mindless robots going in a cult like circle around every single thing the pastor says.

The true art of being a Christian is being able to NOT do wrong things.

Everyone, sins.

Even Christians.

Also, sweetie, if we created God, then why is there so much conflict about him?

There are many man made religions that people dont seem to have much of a problem with.

Why is this one attacked so much?

Think about it.

Christianity is an experience more than a religion.

One you have to understand before you argue it.

I cant even explain it.

Theres alot of hatred towards us, which, is odd if you've ever looked into Christianity.

Our goal is to spread love and kindness yada yada.

So why so much hatred?

What is it about us that people don't like?

Thats something you should look into.

You seem very mature for your age, and I applaud your strong opinion, so my reply is to give you something else to do while you're figuring things out.

Don't be so quick to dismiss something just because everyone is against it.

I think you are being rather rude to religious people with the statement that they are sheep implying they are being blindly led because they dont have the ability to figure things out for themselves.

Everyone has people they admire and people they will follow in a variety of diff settings because humans are wired to organize themselves in this manner.

Just because you choose to be in a religion doesnt mean you need a leader to lead you because you cant handle life on your own. It just means you agree with a churchs viewpoints and its organized in a way that lets you practice that belief in a large group setting.

Plus, in terms of my religion, mormon, leadership is put on all the members. There is no paid clergy. People in the congregation are called to the positions including the head of the congregation, the Bishop. All the teachers and speakers are members of the congregation and callings switch around so that you might be called to a leadership position at any time. How can everyone be sheep if they can be called to be leaders at any time?

I think you need to get off your high horse, esp at 12, and realize that just because you dont believe in God doesnt mean you are superior in your thinking ability or in your beliefs.

If you keep up this attitude you will find not very many people will want to be around you.

Buddhism while being fairly harmless is I think a trifle narcissistic given that the ultimate goal appears to be the separation of the self from all worldly matters in order that one can experience pure inner peace,,,touch exclusive, oh yes and as rick said keep on thinking

Well, I'm a Christian and I am certainly not a sheep. You have absolutely no idea of the differences among Christians and that many of us are very smart, question things, understand and agree with (most of) science. YOU are a sheep to someone or some idea, whether it be atheism, or a consumer who buys the latest "in" thing, or whatever. You sound very young and impressionable, with not a lot of logical reasoning skills (sorry).

I believe in God, and his Son, Jesus Christ, that he came to earth, died and rose, so that we can have a relationship with God.

I believe this is the most logical, and there is the most evidence for Protestant (Non-Catholic) Christianity (even considering Atheism).

Yes, most religions have a Shepherd, and in Christianity, this is because we believe God created people, and he knows better than we do, not that we are unable to think for ourselves

You're right religions are completely man made and most of them do not make complete sense. Some of them have some things within them that do make sense, but none of them make complete sense.

However that does not mean that God does not exist. We do not know what God is or how to define it/him/her, religion tries but has failed as far as I can see.

Agnostic - it's the only choice that really makes sense...so far.
