Why do JW use "apostate" as a way around subjects that are uncomforable?
I've seen too many times on here that any negative information about Jehovah's Witnesses is shot down with "that's an apostate video" or "you/they/he/she is probably an apostate" like it automatically makes the information false. Why? Should we now dismiss all answers from Jehovah's Witnesses in support of the organization based on this theory? "Oh, of course they would say that, they are probably a JW"...Why don't you address the issues instead of throwing around the word apostate? Seriously, I want to know.
Could you not liken this to a prospective employer calling your past employers to find out what kind of employee you were? You give references, which will give you a glowing review. However, you may see another side by asking past employers. Shouldn't you get both sides?
Is anyone else curious about why no Jehovah's Witnesses have answered this? Is it because I'm an "apostate"?lol

Since they see themselves as the ONLY representatives of God here on earth, anyone who disagrees with their "organization" is automatically classified as apostate. They see whatever the men that head this organization say as the final word on everything and there is no possible way these men could have misinterpreted anything.(Despite the many, many times they have been wrong on the time the Lord will come back and other issues like replacement theology.) Therefore, they think that anyone who thinks contrary to what they think is an apostate. They ignore the fact that the way to judge a prophet is by whether what the prophet says comes true. By this standard, they would have to admit the "organization" is a false prophet. These people are in darkness. They are spiritually blinded. Just pray for them. It is about all you can do for them. It is a shame because there are many sincere and sweet people in this "organization" that do want a pure form of worship. They are just looking in the wrong place!
They have lost the ability to think for themselves and weigh the evidence or look at both sides of an issue without the "organization" telling them what to think. I guess that is what happens when you give up your God given right to think for yourself. I never could understand them. Maybe I am wrong about this, but I do not think so. This is what I have gathered in talking to them. Christians! Please continue your prayers for enlightenment for those caught up in this "organization's" web of deception.

A couple of reasons.
First, the best defense when you are backed into a corner is to launch an strong offense. That way, while the other side is busy defending itself, it might forget what it was fighting for in the first place.
Second, there is a phrase in psychology called "cognitive dissonance" and its premise is this: the human mind, when confronted with two conflicting ideas, experiences dissonance. In order to resolve this condition, one of two things must take place. Either, the human mind outrightly rejects the idea that conflicts with the one it has held for the longer period of time. Or, if the person tends to be open minded, he/she may try to reconcile the two ideas. Eventually, as they see the validity of the opposing viewpoint, and if they come to realize that it makes more sense than their previous perception, they may even reject the old stance in favor of the new.
This is what "apostates" have done. This is why the WT sternly warns its adherents to stay away from "apostates", from Bible reading alone, from "Christendom", etc. The WT understands that adherents will see it for the lies it promotes if they are able to see things from another perspective and to find out that the WT has been lying to them, not only about itself, but about the nature of God, Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, "Christendom", "apostates", the Bible, and the Gospel message.

Well since by their definition I am an apostate, maybe I have something say.
Stating the obvious.... Their Bibles were translated deliberately to support their Doctrines. Everything they do is taken from a particular scripture that seems to support their Idea. Any scripture that does not agree is discredited some how.
JW's are taught to answer directly from their training from the Watchtower teaching. Most cut and paste or copy from watchtower publications.
Someone once stated that they were in fact Watchtower-ites.
Their history speaks Volumes !
But, some of Gods sheep are in there. I won't forget !
So I guess I will just have to continue speaking.
In their eye's I am the enemy. But,.....If I have in fact come to a saving faith, speaking the Truth and Jesus does in fact know me where does that leave them ?

Are you saying that all Jehovah's Witnesses refuse to seriously address questions directed at them?
a) That's quite a generalization
b)you don't do your research very well
c)do many uninformed or unbiased people actually fall for this line?
ps: I came from an evangelical baptist background. I am aware of the "lighthouse" ... they terrorized my mother with literature to the point she was in tears, and they wouldn't leave me alone; a member actually followed me into the kitchen of a restaurant I was cooking in, to berate me for not celebrating Christmas!
They constantly deposited their literature in my mailbox, never approached me face-to-face, and they never got past John 20:17, or 1 Corinthians 15:20-28.
What's with that?

The word apostasy has two meanings but the JWs put more than two meanings to the word. In the dictionary it means:
1 : renunciation of a religious faith
2 : abandonment of a previous loyalty
In their religion it means more than that. The JWs use the word to slyly call people liars, untrustworthy, enemies, and troublemakers. It is a distinction between good (the JWs) and evil (apostates).

First let me comment on your statement of "no Witnesses" answering. I just was the question, it happens, questions don't always get found immediately.
Honestly, I've NEVER seen a subject ignored in the way you mention. However, I have seen persons on here explain that my views/answers should be ignored because of being a Witness.
It never seems to end. Pretty much no matter the group on here, if they are unhappy with the way someone else believes, or gets their answers/questions deleted, often ones full of cursing, they blame another group.

Yah, jw perfected the art of name calling apostates, liars, deceivers; what they learn is what they are - antichrist.

The term is misused a apostate is a person that has turned his back or has left the teachings of Jesus Christ, it has to do with Jesus Christ, the WT would have to think it is Jesus Christ to label one as such.If this is so as the WT puts it then C. T. Russell was a apostate for leaving the 7th day adventist movement.

An apostate is one who turns away from one religious teaching in favour of another. You can bet they are using the word wrongly.
