Red and blue neon bar signs in people's basements. Why?

And then they leave them on when no one's even down there, wasting energy.

Most likely they have some sort of bar or sports themed room in the basement. Or maybe its just a basement with a tv that they consider to be their "hang out" lol.

As for energy, neon lights use very little energy, so it isn't going to eat up as much as you'd think. It isn't comparable to leaving the kitchen light on.

Heavy drinkers do lots of things without a logical reason :)

Guess they like looking at the signs . . . as to leaving them on - my guess is just plain lazy??
