How do you explain the 10 plagues in the old testament? There must be a scientici answer to all that happened?

****... I've read/seen this one. I know there is a scientific way it would happen. It was all mapped out excactly why it would go in that order, too. It also showed that, if the first one were to happen, then it would be perfectly possible of it to trigger the other ones, not god to trigger them.

I used to know the answer to this one. Yes there is a scientific answer that gives an exact explanation of how and why the events happened in the order they did. I don't have the energy to look it up right now, but the main thing centers around dinoflagella in the Nile (aka red algae, turns the water blood red). This would drive the frogs out easily. And then a meteor shower hit pretty soon after.

While I am not a Christian, and I follow science very well, I find it hard to believe all the conditions were met so precisely. That being said, I think the plagues are just a story.

On a side note, the first born dying is probably the most surprising. As tradition would have it, the eldest child ate first. If the family had caught fish from the tainted waters, the eldest would have contracted an illness rather quickly and the rest of the family would have not ate. The lack of medical knowledge at the time meant certain death.
