Bordeaux 1997 still drinkable?
I'm new to wine, and I found this Bordeaux 1997 bottle in my basement, mom bought it long time ago. My country, the temperature is like around 27-29 degree, so I suppose my basement is around 26. When I drink it, it kinda have a strong taste, the color is quite solid dark red.
Do u think its expired?
please note I tried a few different wine from Italy and South Africa, and I liked them, but this bottle, the taste is just strangely strong, arent it suppose to be lighter after all the years?

It depends.
Red wine itself develops a stronger and deeper flavour as it ages. The best way to tell if it is off is to inspect the cork and the level of wine left in the bottle.
If the cork is soft in any way or crumbling you may be in trouble, similarly if the wine is below the level of the neck this will indicate air has access to the wine.
Ultimately though if you are not sure, even when tasting it. Who cares? Wine is to be enjoyed, if you like it then the wine is great, if not, move on!
