Plasma TV. "Burn-in" a myth or reality?

I have always heard about burn-in problems with Plasmas. I have also heard that there have been a lot of advances to keep this from happening. Just purchased a Plasma. Any info would help.

PLasma burn-in is still with us, although not as serious as it once was.

yes... it does happen... it happened to my friend who bought a 42" panasonic. He plays alot of call of duty 4 on the internet (a game that has a constant bar at the bottom of the screen)... and when that part of the screen is black i am able to see a faint outline of that bar because it is burnt into the screen. Right now this is the only thing stopping me from buying a plasma. There is a "break in period" of 100 hours when you first purchase the television in which you are supposed to turn the contrast and brightness levels to the lowest and be very careful not to leave on a video game or program with a stationary image on it for too long. I plan on buying a panasonic later this year but i will also have to be very careful.
