I'm American...I understand bangers and mash are sausage and mashed potatoes, but what kind of sausage?

And exactly how do you cook them?

    Normally pork sausages - put straight into the frying pan and cooked with some oil. Yummy! You also need gravy for the bangers and mash.

    Normally it will be a plain old Beef or Pork sausage.

    I normally cook them under the grill in the oven turning frequently.

    Serve with brown onion gravy.

    Bangers are pork sausages.

    To make it easy, bangers can be precooked by boiling and finished off by frying to brown and crisp up the outside.

    Either pork or beef, you can grill or fry them.
