14 year old driving drunk with passed out mother passenger... given the chance, what would you do?

1. The parent is accountable for her daughter who is a minor she would lose custody of that child.

2. The daughter would not get her license until the age of 18 no exceptions. Mother would loose her license.

3. Mother and daughter would go to a court appointed class dealing with drinking and driving and talk to people who have gone Thur the same thing. Maybe that would be a wake up call.

4. Mother would go to jail.

It is incredibly hard to even try and imagine how each would feel in this certain situation.

You have to think if you were that mother, what would you do?

Its easy to say something without taking the precautions in which this family would be affected.

However the court leads up to the decision and yes the girl would be taken into care and the mother sent to jail.

Personnally I agree with this halfly, however if this was the first time anything like this had happenned in the family then a suspension from one another would be more appropriate.

The mother commited a list of crimes.

(1) allowing an unlicensed driver to drive

(2) aiding and abetting DWI

(3)contributing to the delinquency of a minor

(4)child endangerment

(5)child neglect

(6)she's also liable for damages to any property.

Just the facts maam.

The child needs to be removed from the home now.

I would call Child Protective Services. I would expect that they already have been called.

I would be reluctant to place criminal libility on the child although I do think that the child will probably need therapy.

I would not charge the child as a criminal in this case.

I have no sympathy for the mother, however. The mother should go to jail.

**THAT DRUNK** - not at 1am or even 2am, but at 5am, and not even on a weekend. Inexcusable in any case, but totally horrid here.

The mother should be in prison for 15 years.... you should get that drunk and pass out. you also shouldn't allow your kid to drink, much less to drink and drive!

the daughter should be in jail for 2 years.... and have intensive therapy and drug and alcohol counseling...

they both should have to pay for any damages they caused and the daughter should not be able to drive until she is 25.

I'd get the 14 year old a real home. and toss the mother in jail for attempted homicide for 10-15 years.
