Christians, if God speaks to you, then why do you ask questions on R&S?

Shouldn't you just be asking God these questions?

The reason I ask is because I read about a lot of christians who say that God speaks to them and requests things of them. This sounds like a pretty decent relationship to me. So if that is the case, then why aren't you having him answer all of your religious dilemmas? It seems to me that he would be able to give a much better answer than any humans that are on here.

Update:

Why would you compare answers with others when God should already give you the definitive answer. At that point, you should realize that everyone elses answers are wrong.

Update 2:

Sorry for upsetting you Dalton. I just want to know why this is. No offense man.

Update 3:

Thanks buddy.

Wow, I have seen the dark side of Christianity. Sorry people. Please don't send me to hell.

Nevermind, send me. I won't mind.

I think it's because religionists of any sort are somewhat hard of hearing. They only hear what they expect, or want to hear. And maybe if it's not expressed in phrases they've learned already they don't understand it even if they hear it. I had a distant cousin who reckoned Jesus spoke to her. She was very pretty, but she didn't seem to know many answers. Maybe that was because she didn't seem to have thought of many questions.

While it is true that believers should be spending time alone in the Word of God and in Prayer, seeking direction, strength and answers to many of life's difficult challenges...God has provided Apostles,Evangelists,Teachers,Prophets and Pastors for the equipping of the saints.

God is neither deaf nor mute, but has sovereignly choosen to use and speak through his followers as a conduit,in teaching and encouraging each other..

The "Noble Bereans" were commended by the Apostle Paul for diligently searching the scriptures,in testing the teaching that they had received from Him(Paul). We should learn from each other,as none of us are the embodiment of all truth, however any teaching from man, should be tested against the Word of God....

    Good Question...

Um, idiocracy, I can't believe you even had to ask this... I mean come on, how ignorant are you, man? I thought everybody knew that when "god speaks" through these people, causing them to speak in tongues (which used to mean in a different but still real and established language, but now apparently just means any old gibberish you want), they still can't understand what he's saying. So, yea. In case you were wondering. There it is.

Source(s): Dalton, do you have Tourette's? I can say this because people in my family do. (Don't you love that? I hate when people do that, and I just did. So excuse me, everyone.)

Seriously, I really enjoy connecting with others to understand their personal point of view. I have learned a lot from asking questions here. And I check with God before answering questions. I see R&S as one of God's tools for teaching and witnessing. He can use any situation for His glory. I look for that situation. Sometimes it's here.

Well the thing is, people go through trials which is a period of hard times. God doesn't speak during that time, because He's trying to test our faith.

People often come on here for advice. And God also doesn't answer our every question. We have to make decisions and do things ourselves. God doesn't want us to always be completely helpless.

This is very hard to explain to an unbeliever no offense - but one of the ways God speaks to us is through other believers.

What gave you the idea that God doesn't talk to and through others? Oh, how silly of me, I should have just said "What makes you think?"

Whenever you're asked to do something, do you reply with "Do it yourself?" If so, then that answers my question about why someone would ask the question you've just asked.

Edit: Awe, "merry prankster," the jerk without a life is back. Why don't you go play solitaire?
