Is it possible to safely remove tartar (calculus) from your teeth without visiting a dentist?

I have tartar on the back of my bottom teeth and want to get rid of it but I don't currently have a dentist and am on a low income. Are there any ways to safely remove tartar?

If you go to a local drug store you should be able to find a metal dental pick. It should only cost you a max of $10. Than I would use it to scrape off all of the built up tartar. But remember there is no substitution for seeing your dentist.

  • The best thing to do would to see a dentist/Hygienist and get them to remove the Tartar for you.

Sure you could go into a large supermarket/Chemist and buy one of the many over priced products, which claim to remove tartar without ever having to see a dentist again.

But you could end up doing more harm in the long run.

Dentist's/Hygienists are highly trained professionals who know exactly what their doing and carry out this procedure on a daily basis.

    hi

If you have a knowledge of it then you can do it, otherwise do not experience at home. Make search of some other sources so that you can get better treatment.

I used to go to the dentist and have my teeth cleaned every four months. I now have a Sonic tooth brush and do not have to have them professionally cleaned anymore.
