Which ML baseball team has THE most delusional fans in the entire history of Major League Baseball?

I have heard that this is their year...repeatedly...since I can remember.

Wrigley has troughs to pi­ss in...so they need the flower scent..it'll go over well with the fellahs.

In order: Yanks fans - every year they whine and complain about not being 'given' the title, so they go with their typical 'we're the best team ever' response. Then they cry about their stars not performing in the postseason and still go back to their 'we won 26!' reply. Quit living in the past, hardly any of you were alive to see more than a handful of those title runs anyway. White Sox - how easily they forget their own 88 year championship drought. Now they trash talk like there's no tomorrow. They refuse to accept the fact that the umpiring crew gave them every break in the '05 postseason. Since then, we've see them fall back into the familiar pathetic team that they are. BoSox - OK! We get it! You finally got past the Yanks and won the title. Does it not bother you that you've now become as annoying and obnoxious as the Yanks fans? How about being gracious winners and show some dignity when things don't go as good? Cubs fans? It's hard to say we are delusional because we've come to accept the misery. We don't like it, but we accept it. Realistically we know each year will be difficult. We just try to make the best of it and really just hope for the best. Besides, what kind of fans would we be if we didn't think our team could win it all?

I don't think the faith of Cubs fans makes them delusional, they know going into the season that they are going to fail, someway or somehow their season will come crashing down on them. They are fully aware of the situation going on. I think that this honor goes to several teams, the Yankees, Red Sox, and Cardinals being the big three (I'm from STL, so this isn't biased). Fans of all three of these teams expect their teams to win it all every year. There is a huge difference between rooting hard for a team and thinking they are championship quality. Fans of these teams expect 100 wins and a world series every year no matter what.

White Sox fans are getting pretty close to the most delusional in my mind... I mean, for a team that has only won 2 World Series in 100 years (with an 88-year drought between the last two), they sure do talk a great deal of smack.

I would call Cubs fans loyal not delusional. They just like to cheer for their team no matter what.

And I don't think a World Series drought can last forever. It's gotta happen one year.

I think many Cubs fans just say those things to support those teams, not necessarily because they really believe that it's their year. Despite their history of not winning, they still believe in their team just like most other fans.

yeh, i have to agree! the cubbie fans are very foolish humans, who live in dreamworld!! these fools really think 2008 is the year!! ha! ha!! now that!! is funny!! cubs will go 80-82!

I was thinking the cubs too' as they really deserve a win this time or next.They have been thru hell and back and now their time has come to WIN again....
