How can I make this movie smaller (in terms of file size)?
I have a video file that is about 300 MB in avi format. I would like to reduce it in such a way that it would be possible to e-mail (less than 10 MB or so). I realize that any such compression will degrade the quality of the movie. What file formats do you recommend? Do you know any free software that will do this?

Windows Movie Maker comes free on most Windows XP and Vista computers. You just import the file to WMM and save it to your computer...before it saves it, it gives you the option of choosing a final file size: http://i26.tinypic.com/2lkz60g.jpg
