Yes, this is Hotel Circle in Mission Valley. This hotel is next to Black Angus Steak House and 1 block from the AAA office. On Hotel circle North. It has a large lobby and a nice pool. It is very popular with tourists, and is close to Old Town, SeaWorld, the Zoo, and Fashion Valley mall. It is clean, safe and well maintained. It also uses the name Comfort Inn Zoo/SeaWorld.

I will start from the south and work my way up: East Chula Vista (East from the I-805 freeway) Nice and quit community with Southwestern Community College. Close to Imperial beach, Silver Strand beach, Coronado. Surrounding areas near Grossmont Community College are okay. Not as close to the beach but you have access to the freeways 125 and I-8. They will lead you to mission valley, San Diego State University, and eventually downtown. More inland so a bit warmer weather. Pacific Beach is a college party community so it has its ups and downs. Next to the beach, Mission Beach, and Ocean Beach. You can drive to San Diego City college from here. San Diego City College is right in Downtown San Diego. Close to the Gaslamp Quarter, Mission Bay, Harbor, airport, Balboa park, etc, etc,. Here you have access to most freeways. Older community. Pockets of higher crime communities. There are soo many safe communities to list so it all depends on the type of Lifestyle you want to live and how far away you want to commute to college. Good luck.

Hotel Circle is fine. Its in mission valley surrounded by freeways, businesses, the football stadium and nice apartments. Also a very nice outdoor mall. Fashion valley. You will be around 15 min to everything, downtown the beachs, seaworld etc.

Its OK but in the middle of nowhere surrounded by freeways.
You are better off looking at Pacific or Mission beach. At least you can walk everywhere.
You will not find parking if you drive to the beaches
