So the final Harry Potter books is to be made into 2 movies, released 6 months apart - what do YOU think?

thats completly rubbish if there going to make it into two movies i dont think ill watch them till there both out on dvd because by the time the seconed one comes out people will have forgotton what happend so unless they relise the first part 5 months after its shown in the cinema there no point making two films for the one book

It's about time they did it.

They really should have been making two films per book since Goblet of Fire.

I don't care if some people see it as a money making scam - as a fan of Harry Potter I am very happy that there will be an opportunity to finally do justice to one of the books.

I know some think that it is a money making scam but heres my take on it. If you read the books you realize how detail oriented they are. These many details are so important to the main plot. In the past , it has been somewhat disappointing to me when alot of the details were never touched on. The final book has soo much going on and it is ending the entire series so lets get all that we can. Cause after that there will be no more.

A rather contrived attempt to milk as much money out of the last two films as possible. Honestly I lost a lot of respect for JK Rowling after the book she wrote and illustrated was so limited and only available at auction for some ridiculous price, in the millions of dollars...I think her success has gone to her head and now she is an elitist and no longer concerns herself with her fans.

It's a great idea. They'll be able to fit in a lot more stuff and make the movie really good. Everyone thinks it's just for money, but I don't think that was the main reason for doing the split.

I think that it is a good idea. They should have done it with the 5th movie too since it is the biggest book. If they left the last movie in one piece we would end up with a movie that was like Lord Of The Rings, which was incredibly long and could have been split up to. I think that the movie has to be split up in order to get all the information into it.

It seems a shame to break the story into two parts, but I guess they feel they need the extra time to do the story justice. I wonder if they'll leave the first half as a cliff hanger or resolve it and make it two separate stories. Looking forward to it's release weather it's one or two movies!

i'm very thrilled to take heed to that they do no longer seem to be going to prune the proper e book a lot. clearly i've got been upset approximately each and all the pruning that has occured with the different e book/action picture translations - a number of my renowned areas have been trimmed down or out thoroughly interior the previous...or worse yet have been altered to slot the process the action picture (are not getting me started on the Goblet of fire gillyweed debacle - how could they rewrite it so thate Neville steals the gillyweed from Snape?? Neville might in no way do this!). yet I do have some authentic concerns approximately how the 1st action picture of the Deathly Hallows will play out. Will it only be one big camping out action picture? i'm no longer as excited to spend $30 and sit down in a crowded theatre of stinky, germy, chatty, rude human beings only to exhibit screen Ron and Harry pass camping out and fall for some fairly obvious Voldemort traps. however the Siege of Hogwarts! you could no longer save me removed from a theatre for that! i'm bringing an entire container of Kleenex with me for that scene. the proper action picture could be actual magnificent and electric powered! it fairly is properly worth an entire action picture all with the help of itself!

probably a good idea as the book has so many things happening that to make 1 movie would either be far too long or would have to be edited and lose out on the essence of the story - some of the earlier films miss out on important aspects already

Since they're doing it to be able to include more in the movie I think it's great. The fact that they'll be able to make twice as much money probably never even entered into the discussion at the movie studio.
