You need to reprogram the units on the back or sides Off the opener hit the learn button and hold until a little lite turns of (about 20 sec.) that will erase the remotes and keypads then hit the learn button again for about a second then pres the remote you want to program to that opener until the door opens or closes and to program the key pad you press again for a sec. go to the keypad put your password again and press enter until the door actions. Do that for both openers with the desired remotes and password. The first step where you press and hold is just to erase all the memory so you only do it once. If you still have problems it might be the logic board of the opener (brain) you should call a garage door company to check it out . LEARN BUTTON IS A SMALL BUTTON SQUARED OR ROUND AND IT HAS A LITTLE LED LIGHT RIGHT NEXT TO IT. If its the area where you live that wont let the signal work properly then you have to upgrade the opener with a new receiver box with a stronger signal and new remotes that work with the receiver box (that is to keep from replacing the whole thing) if that's the case then a garage company will do it for you "ask then to also PM your doors"

  • Since your keypad works I think your trouble is with your three remotes. The keypads are nothing more than remotes themselves. Some Smart Boards did have a separate memory slot for the keypad but this fix is the easiest. Get the proper replacement transmitter from the store and program it in. If you are careful opening the package you can return it if it does not work. If you have problems call Chamberlain at 1-800-528-6563. PS Make sure your keypad on the outside really is wireless. If it is not the wiring should be easy to see. I do take e-mails. Good Luck!

As said above, the first thing to try is to clear out each unit's memory and reset all of your remotes/keypad. This may solve the problem. It may, however, be some sort of interference in the garage that is causing a problem with the weaker signal strength of the hand held remotes. We have actually had some Chamberlain models on which the remotes wouldn't work very well if the flourescent lights right above the opener were turned on. As soon as you turned them off they worked fine - this has been remedied in the newer models using the 315mhz freq. Just keep that in mind - it may be something in the area causing the signals to be greatly weakened.

If you have sensors (the laser lights located at the bottom of the track on both sides) installed with these doors make sure that they are lined up with each other. If they are off even a 1/4" that can affect the operation of your remote garage door openers.

One problem i know of with Chamberlain is that its quite easy to set the digitizer on the inside unit a number or so off and it will act exactly as you are saying.

Try to re-program the inside receiver with the hand held. If you dont know how to set the digits, go on line and read their instructions for your model.

Reprogram your units receiver and hand held unit.

I dont think its the antenna at all. Ive never seen where an antena made much diff on a door opener.

Some times the contacts for the batteries tarnish. Those brass things that your batteries fit in between . You have to clean with something abrasive. Happens to mine all the time.
