Well, you can look at it two ways.

    A. They are trying to be faithful to a HUGE and insanely dense book, and are trying to give the fans what they want; mainly more lore and story from the books. Many of the previous Potter films have been criticized by fans for being too watered down, and maybe they are trying to tie everything up to make the fans happy.

    B. The produces are no dummies, and they know that both films will make HUGE amounts of money. The films are bowing six months apart, so the WB will be carried by them for quite a while. They are doing nothing short of exploiting the fans and milking them for all of their expendable income. (not to mention the success overseas of the Potter films)

So, personally, I know it's a mixture of both, and people involved in the project probably see it both ways. My only concern is that the first movie will be left either too open or too closed, or it'll be split at an inconvenient place. Also, will the fans be disgruntled or quivering with excitement as they wait half a year for the second half? Who knows. Maybe we'll all read the book 12 more times before the second film is released.

Also, is it going to be called Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows...part 1 and part 2? Just a thought...

Wow I'm sorry that just sounds silly the Harry Potter Movies could get to the 3 hour mark or a then some like Return of the King which was a good 3 hours and 20 minutes I wouldn't mind sitting through a good 3 hr and 30-45 min. movie it just sounds stupid to split that one up I'm sure if directors keep taking **** out of the original story like Dobby and other parts that were good in the story it could fit that time frame. Goblet of Fire/Order of the Phoenix could have been a lot better had they not taken that some of that stuff out.

I think it is just another way to make even more money on an already whored out franchise. It is all about money now, and not about making good movies. Of course it has never been about making good movies, it had always been money. But this last stunt is nothing more than that.

She has never had a problem with chopping up her books to make them shorter, or make less sense so she can make her drawn out crappy *** movie, so why not do this for the last one as well? It isn't like the people going to the movies haven't read the books already. There is nothing that is going to confuse them. Of course it has already been set, so there is no turning back now, sadly. The world is going to be faced with even more worthless hollywood crap.

I could say i won't be in a position to agree. Years in the past, while the 1st actual Harry Potter action picture got here out i replaced into smitten with the help of conserving each factor the script had disregarded or altered. Now, I understand this replaced into infantile and unrealistic of me to anticipate from a action picture. How could a set so magnificent ever be switched over into movies of an equivalent status? It only won't be in a position to be completed. i think of the action picture manufacturers have completed their terrific and created fairly solid movies, in spite of the incontrovertible fact that that is probable terrific on your wellness in case you give up attempting to benefit them to the books. movies are thoroughly distinctive from books. as a result, interior the conversion technique, many dramatic variations could be made. they have gotta make funds, you be conscious of? Few sane human beings delight in sitting by using 3 and a 0.5 hours in a gloomy theater surrounded with the help of human beings they don't be conscious of. You get squeamish and under pressure. So attempt to delight in the flicks for what they're going to be, and don't be upset that they are no longer as solid simply by fact the books. simply by fact fairly, no longer something can tournament the outstanding capability of a Harry Potter novel. :)

I think that, even though I am going to hafta pay twice, its a good decision. At first I was a little upset about it, but then going on Mugglenet.com and reading about their reasoning and such, I really think that it is a good decision. They are doing it FOR THE FANS!

I guess the producers read the book and started working on the script and realized that they couldn't cut anything out of it without ruining some aspect of the story (like they could with Ron playing quidditch or Hermione's S.P.E.W.)

So even though I don't like paying $15 per segment, I am glad that they realize that the entire book is incredibly important to the story and they don't want to jip the fans.

Not good, all the films have been pretty weak compared to the books and getting weaker. A lot of people i have heard form would prefere 1 story films then it spread out over 2 films. Also a shame that the Hobbit will have to share its cinema time with HP, but LOTR did beat HP each year they opened together and have always been better stories/effects etc.

Yea I heard about this. I actually think its a good idea just because then they will be able to fit every part of the jammed packed book in the movies and even if the movies are somewhat of a cliff hanger who cares we already know what happens.

Depending on the length of the film/films it is a good idea. Overall, I think they are looking for ways to make more money, GREED is evident in this concept they are thinking about doing. It has been a good series, but like everything in life let it come to an ending.
