I am 39 weeks pregnant and keep having sharp pains under my belly, what is it?
Okay so I am due in 3 days, I have been pretty constipated (sorry i know it's too much info) but It has been hard to go to the washroom and sometimes it causes pain under my belly because of the built up pressure/gas. I was wondering if anyone knows if that is what these sharp pains are caused from, and if not what could they be? I dont think they are contractions but who knows? Someone give me some advice lol. I need it, I'm a first time mommy and I worry ALOT.

Sounds to me like contractions. I have often heard that contraction feel like painful gas but I didn't feel them that way because I went into back labor so all my pain was in my back. Happy pushing, I think you are going to be a mom soon!

It is more than likely contractions. Time them. It could also be constipation pain. If it is more on the right side then you probably need to take gentle laxative. You may want to go ahead and do this anyway just for the relief. Good Luck

First of all, Congratulations on your expectency! Not long now from the sounds of it! From what you've described, it sounds very familiar but nothing too concerning. It may be a sign that your baby is just about ready to meet you! :-)
If you do get worried though, do consult your doctor as they can help you with any questions you may have.
Good Luck, and God Bless!

he is trying to excape. lol. If you start feeling a lot of pain in your back that rushes to your tummy, than you need to worry. other than that, it is just contractions. If you waters breaks, go to the hospital. If you wake up with the child between your legs, god I wish that would happen to me, lol. I am on number 6. Just stay calm and just remember, you only want your baby in your arms. Stay focasted on that, and the pain will not bother you. good luck and congrats

I sounds like you could be in the early stages of labor.. Give your doctor a call and talk to them about it ASAP

If you are worried about contractions, time them.
Here is an AMAZING site where you can time them if you don't have a watch present.

very well could be the beginning of contractions. Especially at the stage you are at.....soooo exciting

it could be because you are constipated and your bowels could be built up with pressure. but call your doctor still or start timing them.
