    OK. Area = Length times width.

    As it's a square, length =width.

    Multiply 4 1/2 by 4 1/2 = 20 1/4

    Area = 20 1/4 square feet.

    Hope this helps.

    1. b1=12 b2=20 h=5 A trapezoid can be looked at as 2 triangles (1/2 b1 + 1/2 b2) * h =(6+10)*5 = 80 2. A=pi^radius^2 r=20/2=10 A=10^2*pi =100pi 3. 25 unit^2 : 36 unit ^2 sqrt both sides 5unit : 6 unit =5:6 4. 4x-5y=8 5y=4x-8 y=4/5x - 8/5 slope of a perpindicular line will be the negative reciprocal of this slope = -5/4 5. a+b/2 xcoord: (-7+1)/2 = -6/2 = -3 ycoord: (3+5)/2 = 8/2 = 4 zcoord: (2+1)/2 = 3/2 = 1.5 =(-3,4,1.5) 6. I don't understand the way this question is worded 7. A. 8 B. 64 C. must be this one D. infinite =C Hope that helps a bit

    well first you do the equation to find the area of a square:

    Area=Length X Width

    A=l X l

    A varitaion of this is

    Area= Base X Height

    A= b X h

    Next, if you're a little shaky with fractions or your calculator doesn't do fractions, convert 4 1/2 to 4.5

    Finally put it all together:

    A= 4.5 x 4.5

    A= 20.25

    A slightly more complicated version yet with fewer steps could be

    Area= Side (Squared)

    Note that the more complex formula works only for SQUARES ONLY!!! The basic formula (the first formula) works for any parolleogram such as rectangles also.

    Well, since a square has 4 equal sides and 1 of the 4 sides is 4 1/2 or 4.5 then you can either multiply or add.

    4.5

    + 4.5

    4.5

    4.5 = 20.5

    4.5x4= 20.5

    Area = Length x Width

    Since a square has all equal sides

    Area= side x side

    Area = 4.5 x 4.5ft

    =20.25 ft.sq

    well on a square all sides are equal so they are all 4.5 and the area of a square is length by width so it'd be 4.5 times 4.5

    which is 20.25 square feet

    Area = length x width

    A square with a length of 4.5 ft. would also have a width of 4.5 ft, so you simply multiply 4.5 x 4.5 ....

    Your answer should be in "sq. ft."

    4.5 squared

    Area is defined by the square of the lenght times the width

    well if one side has a side of 4.5 feet, then they ALL do

    so lenghth times width 4.5*4.5= 20.25 square feet.

    4.5 x 4.5=area of a square
