Doesnt it strike you as ironic that?
those who believe in God seem to be more possessive of God than God is?
You know...the whole: Im going to fight to maintain Gods word on earth!!!! phenomenon...
all the while forgetting how even God waits until youre dead to judge you.

There are some mean people who try to bury their religious fist in your face.
If there really was a god, I don't think he would approve of that

I'm a Christian and I honestly do not feel like I have to fight to maintain God's word on earth. Since Christ came to the earth, His Word is here, and will be till the end of time. It certainly doesn't need a fight to remain. I can't understand what would make you say such a thing as that. I also don't feel "possessive" of God. God is available for everyone on the face of the earth. My relationship with God has nothing to do with possession. It has to do with love, acceptance, forgiveness, redemption, grace, peace, etc....nothing at all about possession. It sounds to me like you are giving God human characteristics. Would I use terminology like "I'm God's" Yes, but not usually. It would only be to an audience I knew knew what I meant wasn't possessive. I think you may misunderstand some terminology at times or you wouldn't think in those terms..

Good question, I do belive to many people take thing so literally that they actually refuse to seel what life is all about. We are born with so many different personilties. and without those personalities live would be so boring. All diffent belief leave to freedom and freedmon of thought. If we were all the same life would not evolve. we need people to think of diffent levels to get this society evolved. Being all the same leads to a boring life with nothing to learn about. we can all learn from each other no matter what we think.

I think it's very ironic.
People take "words" from God to an absolute extreme that sometimes it's a little ironic and ridiculous.

I'm not judging you at all. But it is my job as a disciple of Jesus to spread His word and act against falsehoods...but not to bicker

I think if we all try to be peaceful and love each other we will be fine. God or no God. Basically that is all Jesus preached anyway. And the Bible is nothing but hypocrisy.

Most believers are not like that and most atheists i know are not"evangelistic' about forcing their views on others, either, but there are many exceptions to both, especially here on R&S

Interesting point. Now toss in God's non-existence and you've got it.
