    I hope so.

    I have no idea how long it will take and I'm not sure what kind of volunteer work would be available for the general public.

    Who knows...before they can solve it, they need to determine the exact cause(s) and they don't even have that yet. CCD might not even be curable for all we know, it could be a natural parasitic population decline that builds back up only as the colonies continue to die out.
