How did the men live in the 1880s?

Unfortunately "Nobody's" ignorant and racist opinion is probably going to be mostly what you hear. Hey "Nobody" - how come "black people" aren't "men," in your mind?

People think of the 19th century and picture dapper gentlemen in bowler hats and wool suits, but that was not true for most men. Most men labored.

Bear in mind that in the 1880s, there was very little automation and no power equipment. So most things that required physical labor were done by hand. To build a house, for example, the foundations were dug by men with shovels, the frames were built by men with saws and hammers, and so on. There was a lot of hard work to be done, and it was men who did it. Then, even more than now, most people labored for their money - in building, on farms, in factories.

That would entirely depend on where they were living and their station in life. The life of a rich english nobleman would obviously be very different from the life of a poor farm labourer. And the life of a prosperous New York businessman would be very different from the life of a rancher in the Wild West. it is really hard to give an answer to such a broad question.

The same as they do today.They get up eat breakfast,some drink some coffee and go to work. For free time go out with the boys and watch some baseball or go bowling. On some occasions stop by a bar and have a cold beer.
