How can I get a job in the HR field with no HR experience?
I am in my 30's and have a degree in communications. I want to get a job in the HR field, but have no experience in the field and no one will hire me. I cannot afford to start with very low wages. I was thinking that I could find a volunteer opportunity that would give me some experience, but the problem is that I work during the day. Any suggestions?

Unfortunately, there is no way around the fact that you need to be prepared to start in an entry level position. There are many very qualified applicants for positions, and when applying for management and senior analyst positions, you would be competing with candidates with several years of direct HR experience. When you apply for the position, highlight the facets of your background which are most applicable to a career in HR. Successful Human Resources professionals (and departments) focus on great customer service and support of the business. Therefore, when filling positions in the function, we look for evidence of customer service and ability to understand the business. Highlight these skills on your resume, your cover letter and in your communications with hiring officials. Finally, be persistent and don't give up. You'll find the right match with effort. Good luck.

i have no experience in HR (19, waiting for entry into Uni) but the company hired me as their HR assistant anyways.
so my advice is to start from the lowest. get the related experience then move up. pay wise you cant bargain much because having a degree isnt all that counts, they want the experience.
also, having no experience and cannot afford to start with low wages dont go together. you just have to suck it up i suppose.

That would be difficult to obtain a career in that field, there is a lot schooling required, confidentiality laws....etc...I am not trying to be a downer, but it is imperative to have some type of ceritification to be an HR officer!

for sure it is going to count number yet its extremely aggressive. Remeber those with out MBA's are looking for those self same jobs to yet are often more beneficial effective because they have authentic experiance. you've both MBA and Exeriance you need to be ok notwithstanding it is going to take time to get a reliable interest dont assume it interior per week or something
