AVG is not a firewall. It is a very good Antivirus suite.

I would suggest using Comodo Firewall(http://www.personalfirewall.comodo.com/) INSTEAD of windows XP firewall. It's a better firewall. But you don't need more than one firewall.

Also, Adaware is being discontinued, so you might want to pick up SuperAntiSpyware (www.superantispyware.com) instead.

Yes. Windows firewall is like having no firewall at all.

In response to the post above.

Anti virus and firewalls are not the same thing. You need both a good anti virus program (If your using windows) and a firewall.

I agree with jswentwo about Comodo Firewall. It is a very good firewall and easy to use. Comoda however has more to offer. Go to http://www.comodo.com/ and you will see, that they also offer for free an antivirus -, antimalware program and a free web verification program. See for yourself and go to there website

download and install free zone alarm

    http://www.zonealarm.com/store/content/catalog/pro...

as the person above says comodo is also a very good fire wall but is more labour intensive than zone alarm you have to keep giving permission for everything you do including installing programs very annoying
