Does anyone "horns up" at Christian rock shows?

It's true. Religious music does tend to be horribly, horribly bland. It lacks sincerity and - tho' I hate to use the word - soul. But it never used to be that way. Religious music used to be great - Bach's B minor Mass, Mozart's Requiem for example. Wonderful, wonderful music created by people who wanted to make the best music they could. These days, the focus isn't on music but on "bringing people to the Lord". This reduces it to the level of advertising and propaganda. The quality of the music suffers. It sounds like it came from a "how to compose music" textbook rather than from an actual, flawed, vulnerable human being, which is what music needs to have any real value at all.

I used to do lighting and sound for Christian rock concerts, so, yes, I've seen it before. They do it in ignorance. The bands usually correct them with a one way finger. Remember, many rock shows contain new believers and even unbelievers invited by fellow Christians. We pay it little mind because it does not change the message. Many of these same kids are raising their hands to be saved by the end of the event. So what did it matter?

haha yeah i bet loads do because no one knows what that means anymore they just randomly do it for even the crappiest music availible.

its lost most meaning and is used for everything and anything now, i mean hillary clinton used it.

so yeahhh i am positive loadssss of people do it, but they have no clue what it means.

How else are you supposed to say "ROCK ON!!!" I mean, besides all the yelling a screaming? Wait... do people yell and scream at those concerts?

I did this at a youth group outing when I was a kid. They called my parents. I told them I thought it was sign language for I love you.
