That would depend on whether he wants what is best for the country and the party.

For the sake of the country and the democratic party he should. He will never, never win the election in the fall after this fiasco with his Pastor. Never. Even though he could still win the nomination, if he withdrew now, he would live to fight another day and maybe run again after proving himself. If not, and Hillary wins the nomination the racial divide will be enormous.

For the sake of the party, racial harmony, his own career and to maintain any chance of getting the Republicans out of the Whitehouse he should stand down. Will he? Not a chance!

Yes, from present office as well as the presidential race. We don't need someone in either office that has stated that he hates America. In my opinion, he is a traitor and should either leave, or be made to leave the office he holds. His racist views are damaging. How can he be trusted to do what is right for ALL Americans he is responsible for, that he represents. To favor none, and do his best to be equitable to all. He up holds a pastor that is anti-white, groups all whites together as being racist, and protects this person's point of view. How can Obama possibly be fair to anyone who is not black?

Yes the DNC should also be asking for his resignation from the Senate as well!

They put trust in him and he has lied

He denied that he had ever heard those types of comments from his pastor, today it's another story

    Step down Barack now

Why give up. He has the delegates. They either will vote for him or not, black people did not get him those delegates, that is a small percentage of the voting population, everyone is voting, those that say oh, I voted for Clinton or McCain, well.....................some of them are not telling the truth. The media is using fodder (any available material to feed the hunger of the masses).

We want a change the people in power is doing everything to NOT change.

in light of the recent evidence of his racism, I think withdrawing would be the prudent thing for Obama to do..

    Absolutely!

  • 1 decade ago

Absolutely NOT.....why would he? He didn't hire any hookers or anything.......he had a pastor -- the pastor wasn't great -- okay -- so what did Obama do? He went to church...he's already stated over and over that he doesn't agree with the pastor that was taped --- good lord. I don't even know who I'm voting for yet but give the guy a break.

And you know what? There isn't one single ADULT person on the face of this earth who doesn't have ANY skeletons in their closet. We, as citizens need to grow up and realize that we are ALL FREAKIN HUMAN AND WE ALL MAKE MISTAKES.....PERIOD.

I for one am very uncomfortable with him having to defend his pastor - I don't believe he is being truthful about their relationship and I do think he should withdraw. I think months more of this controversy will only make it worse and bad for the party overall.

I definitely believe he should! He's racist and has proven that by still being friends with that bigot of a pastor! He said today that he does not agree with the pastor's remarks, but won't 'disown' him, which sounds to me like he enjoys being friends with racists and bigots!! He certainly should step down! This country suffers enough from racism and bigotry without him getting in the WH and promoting it more!
