What is the biggest fight boxing could make right now, that is realistic?

Some of my opinions:

1Cotto-Mayweather, a huge undefeated fight with 2 superstars and if cotto could get past gomez and margarito or cintron, i think this would be huge

2 Calzaghe-Pavlik, 2 very different but entertaining fighters, a old, speedy experinced boxer who is undefeated and still at the top of his game, and a new young knockout artist from the steel mills, great fight, alot of hype

3. Ricky Hatton vs MAnny Paqiou, a little chance it happens, but a very intiguing matchup with two sluggers

4. Sam Peter vs Wlad Klitcshko II, best heavyweights in the world both big punchers peter coming off of a signature win.

5.David Haye vs top heavyweights(Wlad,Peter), haye could be a new exciting superstar witht he one punch power heavyweight should have.

What is the best realistic dream fight right now in boxing, dosent have to be these five but if it is give me ur top 3.

your picks were pretty good. I still rather see mayweather fight mosely than cotto just because i think it would be more competive.

    -trinidad vs pavlik

    -manny pac vs jaun diaz

    -calzaghe vs roy jones jr

-hopkins vs roy jones jr 2

    -cotto vs de la hoya

-peter vs tua (for the hell of it )

I think that there are PILES of great matchups that could be made. . . to pick one or two will be difficult, but I'll play along.

COTTO-MAYWEATHER: Definitely would test Cotto's ability to get on the inside and bang with the best. Would also test Floyd's ability to absorb huge punishment on the inside and use his speed to make Cotto miss. While I think it's a bit of a longshot of actually happening. . . I'd be GLUED to the screen!

WLAD-VALUEV: Just for the spectacle of it all. Imagine two true GIANTS going at it. . .huge shots coming from both sides. This would NOT be like Wlad-Ibragimov. . . . Valuev isn't usually in boring fights. He throws bombs every round, has amazing stamina for a man so large, and still looks fresh well into the later rounds. Wlad would test the big man's chin with his 1-2, 1-2 powershots. . . . .All in all. . . THIS is the fight I really want to see!

I think Mayweather-Cotto would be the biggest must see fight out there. Both men are undefeated, young and in their prime. There are many who dislike Mayweather and would love nothing more than to see him get knocked out. Those same people feel that Miguel Cotto would be the one to carry out that tall order. Then you have the Mayweather fans who would love nothing more than to prove to others that Mayweather is the best in boxing today, by beating Cotto who others feel would destroy Mayweather. A lot of long time questions would be answered and opinions shared just from this fight.

By the way, I have to give thumbs up to Blogbaba on his answer.

obvious any unification bout in the heavyweight division. cotto mayweather isn't needed but much desired. mayweather is the undisputed welter champ, but the heavys have been a joke for the past 5 years, and it is the marquee division. whether peter vs wlad or wlad vs valuev this is a fight that has to happen and is the biggest fight out there. granted it won't make as much money as a mayweather cotto fight, it will establish a undisputed champ

Calzaghe-Pavlik. That's the one I want to see. I can't think of a more exciting match-up that could happen without one of the fighters having to still prove himself.

Would like to see Cotto-Mayweather, but as you say, Cotto still has to get through other fighters.

Peter vs. W. Klitchsko is good but I'd like to see Peters build a little more off of his last win with some other opponents.

Not interested in watching Hatton spend 12 rounds holding and punching someone while his fans serenade him.

    Good question

    Calzaghe-Pavlik

hands down...peter is good and active in the ring, wlada ---bore is terrible....scared to throw a right hand and is an embarrassment....

did anyone see david haye fight???

i would like to see him vs. Wlad,,,,i take haye he has the aggression

I'd like to see rjj and b-hop go at it before either one retires.

As for jones and calzghe i'd like dat too but he needs to avenge hes losses to get a title shot ya digg.

David haye is impressive so i'd place him to fight wlad soon as possible. Peters last fight was ok but needs to show a lil more to be fighting a man like wlad to be chasing him around da ring like da sultan fight. Last but not least i'd end da year whit a mosely and mayweather fight. Sharp clean technical fight is whut I like best.

With Rey Mysterio being a lot faster he would avoid the slow big show and throw quick combinations. But, lets be realistic Rey might get some shots in but as soon as big show catches Rey Mysteriothat'ss all she wrote. Rey my Advice to you would be throw a few quick combinations and once you realize your not hurting the big show but only making him angry,do yourself a favor and run like hell.

Money wise the biggest fight in boxing would be DeLa Hoya vs Cotto, it would gross off the charts. Cotto vs Mayweather is the one everyone wants to see.

I think a lot of people would be interested in Klitschko v. Klitschko. However, they've said they won't ever fight each other.

Other than that, Calzaghe-Pavlik would be great.
