The guy people are talking about is Matthew Lesko. I used to live near him and what you see on TV is how he is in life.

In all my many years of helping people with money problems I have never meet or known of any actual person that ever got a single penny of free government money for discretionary expenses.

There are government grant programs for things like homeownership but they are traditionally reserved for low income or disadvantaged families and come with loads of strings, obligations and paperwork.

You need to go to the government grant website, find the grant that interests you and apply for it. Most of the grants are for organizations, i.e. non-profits, etc. That guy on tv with the question-mark suit is full of b.s. Makes it sound like you can get free money for nothing but it usually doesn't work that way.

Here's the actual government website. Good luck trying to find what you are looking for. It's a pain, and usually the grants that are of interest are for organizations and not an individual. If you want to get some grants, start a non-profit.

If it is legit, then the grant money that is going to individuals is through the organizations that get the money from the government, and not directly from the goverment itself. Take a look at some grants at that government site, you'll see most are only available to organizations.

If you're hungry to look at that book, go to the library, they have it. What I think is b.s. is that he makes it sound like you can get free money as an individual with ease from the government, which is not the case.

Individual grants are hard to get. Your public library should have a wealth of information on the programs. Usually the main branch. There are usually several stipulations on receiving the money. And the only receipents I know are senior citzens who received money from the county for home repairs.

Same as the guy above said. He wears a wierd suit and lists thousands of grants and shows you how to apply. Go to your public library.

Think local. The only people I now who have received any money came from the city to clean up blight or paint their house. Start with a city council member from your district. They can tell you where to go.
