How do gas stations calculate what they will charge for gas?

I was wondering why some gas stations charge more or less than another station down the street.

My brother and I had a couple of gas stations and we were told what to charge at a minimum almost daily by the railroad comission. we bumped that up by 2 cents per gallon which was in line with most everyone else around. on the full serv we finally went up to 4 cents per gallon and started showing a slight proffit but work out butts off.

Overhead, cost of the product from the manufacturer, and sometimes it's based upon what the price will be in the near future.
