What are some simple Spanish words I can teach my two year old?
She already knows the words for hands, jump, and milk.
I want to stick with basic words for now. I think that would help her pick up sentences later on if she goes to take Spanish in school. I've been told that exposing kids to multiple languages at an early age is exteremly helpful in their development and I know it's certainly couldn't hurt anything. I want to introduce the words one at a time. That's how we learned animal sounds. We just worked on one for a week or so until she got it down and moved on to a new one.
Does anyone have any good suggestions for materials or just simple words to teach her? I don't know that much Spanish myself even though I've been to Costa Rica and took two years of Spanish in school (obviously didn't pay too much attention if I've already forgotten it all!).
Oh and we don't get the channels that show Dora or Diego but she does love her Dora doll. If there are any books for parent use that feature Dora those might be nice to try.

you can go to any store and buy a basic spanish language book for kids... (I'm sure you'll learn too!)
Use every day common phrases and words.
Numbers, colors, shapes, dates, people, every day items.
I love using spanish for body parts to teach my son. (Don't go by my spelling, I'm just sounding them out.) :)
Eyes ojos
nose nariz
hair pelo
mouth boca
fingers dedos
feet pie (pe-a)

I highly recommend going to iTunes and downloading the Twin Sisters Productions album "Spanish". It has some very short, simple songs for very young children that you can play in the car or in the house during quiet time. I teach Spanish to preschoolers, and though these songs may grate on grown up nerves after awhile, kids do love them. For a less irritating option try Jose Gonzalez y Banda Criolla "Carribean Fiesta for Kids". Not as "instructional" but still good exposure. Both are a great value for what you get. The reason I suggest this is that young children are much more capable of picking up language than we give them credit for. While you can choose one of the words you hear in the songs to focus on and practice with your daughter weekly, she will be constantly hearing a variety of words and contexts and absorbing it all into her consciousness. Music is a great context for memory retention (if we remember the melody, we are more likely to remember the words). Also, its fun and no pressure- she will probably love the music and have no clue she is "learning" Spanish!!

i am taking spanish this year, and knowing a few words may help her out, but it's really about grasping the concept of it. like instead of saying blue pants you have to say the pants that are blue.
ex: los pantalones azul
you could eventually work with her on that.
there are also masculine/feminine nouns so sometimes you have to make them agree:
ex: a tall girl- la muchacha alta
a tall boy- el muchacho alto
one of the first things i would teach her are the colors in spanish:
amarillo / amarilla- yellow
anaranjado / anaranjada- orange
azul- blue
blanco / blanca- white
café- brown
gris- gray
naranjo / naranja- orange
***** / negra- black
rojo / roja- red
rosado / rosada- pink
verde- green
as you could see, these are also kind of confusing because they have a masculine and femine form for some, and others do not have two forms.
another thing i would teach her are the days of the week.
our teacher taught these to us using the adam's family song tune:
domingo-Sunday
lunes- Monday
martes-Tuesday
miércoles-Wednesday
jueves-Thursday
viernes-Friday
sábado-Saturday
the song went:
there's domingo and there's lunes, martes and miércoles, jueves and viernes, and then there's sábado. days of the week *clap clap* days of the week *clap clap* days of the week, days of the week, days of the week *clap clap*
this is all to the adam's family song tune. it's fun (even for highschool students!)

ABC's, numbers, foods... all the words that you taught her when she was learning to talk... only in Spanish. Dr. Seuss's Spanish Dictionary is awesome. The actual title is "The Cat in the Hat Beginner Book Dictionary in Spanish" It wasn't actually written by the Seuss himself, but that's what it's called and the illustrations are by the same artist. It's got all kinds of words and then it uses the word in a sentence or phrase. For example the 'ant' entry says "HORMIGAS en los pantalones" (ants in pants), the 'lollipop' says Al nene le gustan las CHUPALETAS" (Baby likes lollipops). There is picture of a baby eating a lollipop. It's awesome! My three year old loves it!
