Christians! Did you know that it's Thor's Day today?

And do you mind that each of the names of the days has some 'pagan' significance (Moon's, Tiews', Woden's, Frige's, Saturn's and the Sun's days)?

I just wondered? Happy first day of Spring btw!

Just as long as we don't worship these gods ourselves it really doesn't matter.

It wouldn't work out too well if Christians renamed the days, pagans would keep them and we would have mayhem.

nicely i'm on GMT, so as that they are going to be no longer able to call it Freya's day here, rather of Thor's day. Do you think of they're quickly going to be temporally lost for an entire month in the event that they have not got self belief in Janus?

Yes. The days of the week have nothing to do with Christianity. Monday (moon day), Tuesday (no idea - you choose), Wednesday (Wodin/Odin's day) Thursday - we've been there, Friday (Freya's day) Saturday (presumably something to with Saturn), Sunday (Sun Day).

Yes, I realize that EVERY Thursday can be seen as Thor's day, but I believe that, whatever the name we call it by, this is the day that the Lord has made and I will rejoice and be glad in it! Do you think that we want to change the names of the days of the week just because they are named after false gods? It really doesn't matter to me what the origin of the name of the day is just as long as I can differentiate one day from another.

Yep. And did you know that Frige was the Norse goddess of Love and that Christ died for love of us on Good Friday (Frige's day)?

    Happy Easter!

You know, assuming Jesus existed, it could have been his as well, since the one day we know for sure has nothing to do with his birth is 25 December...

Which is the cultural equivalent of Jupiter/Zeus and Indra. It's all good.

That's why I live in America, where we swear on God's Bible (no matter what religion), carry around slips of paper that say "In God We Trust", and another third thing!
