Windows Vista Service Pack 1?

So today my Vista system crashed while i was browsing the web.... When I logged back on it told me i needed to download Vista Service Pack 1.I get on the site find the download but it tells me not to download if im only using it for one computer because a smaller verison is availble through Windows Update. I open up Windows Update and it says my computer is up to date. I checked for updates and there is none. I checked to see if it already downloaded it and it hasent. So should i just download it from the site?

The larger file can be burned to disc and saved for the next time you (or someone else) needs it. Not so good for dial-up, though.

However suspect a message that says you need Vista SP1; Microsoft isn't sending that. And never update a sick machine. Fix any current problems you see first.

Microsoft strongly recommends waiting until mid-April when it will be included in the automatic updates. The file you can download from their update site is much larger (465MB) compared to the 70MB that will be available through the Windows Update.

you can download it from the ms site if you want, its just a bit bigger coz its redistributable, say across networks, but its the same update as the smaller one, dont install it if your vista is anything less than paid for tho.
