If you eat leafy greens like spinach daily and red meats 3 times a week you should have enough iron in your system. Not only that but if you have fish, eggs, or flax seeds twice a week that supplies you with Omega 3-6-9. A multivitamin contains often the following: vitamin C, B1, B2, B3, B6, folic acid (B9),B12, B5(pantothenate), H (biotin), A, E, D3, K1, potassium iodide, cupric (sulfate anhydrous, picolinate, sulfate monohydrate, trioxide), selenomethionine, borax, zinc, calcium, magnesium, chromium, manganese, molybdenum, betacarotene, and iron! So again, you can vary your diet so you don`t need as many supplements!

No, I don't think you are taking too many supplements, it is just that they are not really balanced, and no doubt the potencies vary a lot from what it shows on the labels.
Nutrition in our modern world has become very complicated because most of our food is processed for shipping and shelf-life. Unless we are able to eat fresh grown food from organically balanced soils, for health and longevity we need to supplement carefully.
For example, certain supplements, such as calcium and iron, can actually leach those minerals from the body unless complementary minerals, trace elements, and corresponding enzymes are also made available for them to be properly absorbed and metabolized by the body.
After a few months of taking a family of nutritional products that I found, I now enjoy the benefits of knowing that I have a solid nutritional foundation for good health. Email me if you would like particulars.
A long and healthy life for me.

take a multivitamin. take a calcium supplement, if you don't drink much milk. If you're taking medicine that interferes with nutrient absorption, if you're an older person whose calorie intake is low, if you're an athlete, if you're pregnant -- all of those are good reasons to take a multivitamin supplement.
Just stay away from those whopper-sized, 25,000 milligrams, vitamin A or otherwise pills, that stuff is ridiculous
By and large, nutrient supplements -- vitamins, minerals -- are enormously safe, even if you drink a gallon of OJ a day, eat fruits and vegetables, then take 1,000 milligrams of vitamin C, you're not going to even get close to toxicity.
