Males losing their virginity later in life causes sexual health problems?
Check this out:
http://abcnews.go.com/Health/Sex/Story?id=3932047&...
In this news article that I came across it suggest that men that lose their virginity (have intercourse for the first time) after the age of 21-23 are more prone to sexual dysfunction.
I am curios to know other peoples opinions on this.
I think society on the whole looks down on men that have a hard time dating, or getting sexual partners.
Think "40 year old virgin"
Personally I found the movie to be in bad taste, with no humor involved.
While I had a hard time sitting through that whole movie I suspect it has more to do with my perspective.
I am 25 years old going on 26 and have never been able to get a girl to go out with me for more than a week. I have never had sex, and despite being in decent shape I am mostly considered undesirable to women.
I suspect the study to be correct from my own personal observations but I would like to hear some opinions.

First of all, hopefully you will get people over age 25 to answer your question. I do not think the age you lose your virginity will have any impact on your ability to perform sexually later in life. This is taking into consideration that people do not lose their virginity later due to their dysfunction. I know this is a personal question but do you engage in self satisfaction? If so, things should be ok from a physical standpoint.
I really think you should let yourself off the hook. You might be the kind of guy girls look for in their 20s+, someone to have a serious relationship with and not just a hookup.
I have had several guy friends who lost their virginity in their 20s and they all have long term stable relationships that they found in their late 20s.
You should probably find a girl who has similar interests. The best relationships grow out of a friendship. Maybe you should think about other things about yourself and why a girl would want to date you. Are you controlling or uptight? Do you need to have some new hobbies?
I am not so sure that study is correct. I would really like to know the mean age of the people involved. I would guess that younger people might have an issue with a guy that doesn't yet have a sustainable relationship but the older you get, I do not believe that there is a stigma. I believe that it has more to do with the personality of the would be dater.

OK, I'll try to tackle this: You're basically at your sexual peak when you're around 19 or so. Look at the animal world; as soon as you reach sexual maturity, you're breeding or at least trying to. Now, somehow, we as a society have put a 'taboo' on being young and having sex; something about waiting until you're married and giving yourself as a virgin. What a load of crap. Sex is nothing more than reproduction. Period. Continuance (and sometimes betterment) of the species. Animals start humping as soon as they're able. Why should we be any different? People confuse 'love' and sex, or rather, they marry the two together. And they shouldn't do that. It's two totally different functions. So it's understandable that they've reached the conclusions they have. Older animals don't have sex; that's reserved for the younger of the species. And I'm sure that older animals have just as much sexual dysfunction as older human males do. Bottom line: get it while you're young. It's the best! And thanks for a GREAT question!

No (well, probably not.) Even if a guy doesn't lose his virginity til after age 21-23, chances are he has masturbated before.
My point is, if a guy gets to a certain age and hasn't had sex or masturbated or anything, it would make some sense that he might me more prone to sexual dysfunction due to "lack of use". (Even then, I doubt that sexual dysfunction is guaranteed. Just an increased chance.)
Otherwise, don't worry about it.

I don't know if there are any studies which verify this theory conclusively so.........
I can see problems resulting from "emotions"...( the man believes there is something 'wrong" with him which tends to lead to a viscious cycle of self recriminations)
I dont believe there is any physiological basis, however.
I dont know who told you that you are "undesirable" to women but dont believe that crap. There is someone for everyone (unless you are a serial killer or pedophile)..you simply have not met yet. It may be worth consulting a psychologist or social worker to talk this over..get stuff out in the open.

I am sure it applies in some cases; however, not in all. Some men choose to remain celibate until marriage and don't seem to have problems sexually. If you are feeling as though you are not attractive to women, ask a good friend what they think might be your problem. A man does not have to be physically attractive to attract women. Personality mean a lot more than good looks.

I don't know about males but in parent hood class I learned that if females have sex at an older age then they can have health problems and there babies can have helath problems.

I'm sure it applies to some men, but not all.
Don't worry about it - When its your time, you'll be fine.
