Should I Attend Harvard?

Hello, I'm usually the one responding to your questions here on Yahoo Answers, but this time I'm asking for your sincere and honest opinion. I got accepted to the Harvard Graduate School of Education and although it's a fabulous opportunity, the idea of being in debt (student loans) for another 10 years is very scary. I already have a master's degree in a technical field (not education) and I can probably continue my life and do great things, but a year at Harvard can also provide me with experiences and opportunities that I will probably never get again in my life. I just want to hear your thoughts on this.

Based on the fact that not many people are accepted in a year is reason enough to go.

I think that if you apply yourself, you could get a grant. Just do some research and find the right channels.

Only if you plan on getting your PhD later on- you'll have an easier time getting into a program with a degree from Harvard.

What are you going to do with a graduate degree in education? Do you want to be a school administrator or a dean? You don't need a graduate degree to be a good teacher. All it gives you is more theoretical knowledge, and what good is that in today's economy? It potentially could be a waste of money. Get a teaching position co-teaching with a veteran teacher and you'll learn just as much on how to effectively teach kids.

Take on the debt, sweetie. You will NEVER regret the distinct privilege of a Harvard education. It will enrich your life, regardless of your bank account.

Well - seeing that you asked the question twice, it seems like you're really torn about this. All I can do is agree with the person above - go for it. You'll regret it later if you don't... once you leave school, it's hard to ever come back.

My view is: don't get into debt by not going to Harvard. Please go to a cheaper college which is decent. Never ever ever ever take a loan as this might make you homeless.
