megan, if you cant handle a few thumbs down, Y!A isn't for you. I don't doubt there are cruel atheists out there. But I also don't doubt that there are atheists out there who have done far greater things than you. Its not about the religion, its about the person.

I don't think its us non believers that are so cruel for example look at all those catholic priests supposedly men of god molesting young boys over the years, or the Crusades that killed many thousands of people. I have not done anything as cruel as that and I'm pretty sure I never will.

Yes, I can see where a lot of this banter could be hard on the children of god. However, in general, I would recommend that very young people branch out to other less cantankerous sites - e.g., music.

IF everyone who is a "child of god" understood the bible the same way then there wouldn't be so many freaking "flavors" of Christianity. The truth is the people who call themselves Christians don't have any "special" insight into the bible that unbelievers don't.

Im a very calm loving Atheist. i have to admit that there are bitter Atheists out there, But there are also hostile Christians who for some reason feel anger towards others who dont have Christianty as their religion =)
