Is there a rating system for people who only answer questions?

Just wondering if it was some kind of badge of honour to only answer questions to get points and never need to ask questions?

Well, I answer questions because I ENJOY answering questions. I don't do it for the points. I have never quite figured out the value of that point thing, anyway.

Sure, more points puts you into a higher level and a higher level seems to mean nothing more or less than that you can ask, answer and otherwise react to a higher number of questions, but I have never even maxed out the lowest quotas allowed at the lowest level, so the whole matter of points and levels is a total non-event to me.

As I said, I do it because I LIKE doing it.

I don't ask questions very often because usually if I DO have a question, I check the archives on the subject involved and most of the time I will find a few - sometimes several - similar questions. Then I check further to see if there is a serious and genuinely helpful answer already there among them that is applicable and workable for my problem, (and often there IS), then I figure that if all those other questions didn't draw a serious workable answer, then my repeating the question yet again probably won't either.

When I DO ask a question, it is because I cannot find anything of a similar nature in the archives.

nO i DONT THINK SO,but I think this system is open to the cheats who for some strange reason just want to be top dog all the time.they can open up other accounts and /orget their friends to ask questions for easy answers to boost their ratings, they dont really contribute anything to Yahoo Answers do they,I have stopped giving any marks to such people now, wasters

you get points for answering, for getting best answer, for thumbs up on your question.

If you rack enough best answers, you get "Top Contributor" thing added below your avatar.

If you are asking why some people answer a lot but never ask, that b/c we have better ways of finding info than Y!A, and are not interested in "starting discussions"

as quickly as you get the carry of the gadget it works surprisingly good With an answer or a query all it takes is abuse comments with the help of two "depended on contributors" and the bots eliminate the positioned up.

This is just a theory, but I think some people just aren't really that interested in other's input.
