Straight To The Point -- Would Any Of Today's Republicans Survive If Any Of Them Said " TYPICAL BLACKS " ?

I'm trying to see if people and the media would accept any white politician who said those words .

Obviously I'm drawing a clear-cut comparison to the words spoken by Barack Obama . .. ."TYPICAL WHITES".

In fact, I CHALLENGE any Democrat to say "TYPICAL BLACKS". . . and invite them to add any words they choose after saying 'TYPICAL BLACKS" .

So , do you think any Republican could survive politically if they uttered the words "TYPICAL BLACK" ?

Nice straw man argument. Looks like it fooled them.

Probably not and the reason why is from looking at some of these other questions and post one can easily get the wrong idea of what a typical black is. So here goes:

Contrary to popular belief and what you see in the news

A typical black person has not been arrested, doesn't rap, sing, dance, have 21 kids with different fathers, are lazy or been on welfare. Nor do they have the latest Air Jordans.

How would you like to be described as that?

Now from Barack Obama's perspective here's my interpretation of what Obama meant by 'Typical White" having experienced it:

When I worked in Manhattan( New York City) wearing a Designer suit and tie I would pass white women on the street who would instinctively clutch their bags tight when they passed me by.

In Tennessee my wife and I stood in a parking lot to watch a 4th of July fireworks display. I had never heard so many car alarms being set. That was really annoying and so po'd me I actually said something. We didn't even stay to the end.

Let me not forget being in a mall parking lot in Tennessee talking to another brown skinned guy when a car with 4 white kids yelled "G.D. Ni**ers" at us.

While we are on the subject:

The pastors remarks are not typical either but sometimes you get so frustrated that no matter what you do you're still second class. Look at Obama guy went to Harvard, senator presidential candidate and all anyone is talking about is his skin color, his father, his passport, place of birth and his pastor who doesn't talk for Obama.

New York occurred in the 1980's up to 1998. Tennessee

occurred 1998 until 2002. it continues in Texas to some degree now.

What's interesting is I don't think most white people are even aware they're doing this. It seemed to me to be almost subconscious.

Now do me a favor and ask a question about positive brown folks besides Oprah. Ken Chenault is black and CEO of American Express.

Read "Black Enterprise" or something or go to

    http://www.nsbe.org/

and learn about black engineers. I have 7 cousins with PHD's btw. My father and grandfather are white also.

Norma Sklarek was the first licensed Black Woman Architect.

Lord no!! If a republican or any white politician made that remark, they would be slaughtered by the media. That is one of the things that makes me crazy..the fact that black people say garbage like that all the time and it's ok but let a white person say that and we are the racist pigs of the century. This country will never have equality between the races until black Americans stop playing the race card. They need to get over themselves, let go of the past and stop hiding behind their race every time something goes wrong. That my friends, is a typical black..hide behind your race every time you don't get that promotion or someone says something about you personally. See it everyday and an totally sick of it. All that stuff is enough to turn someone racist and it needs to end. My personal thing is to call people on it when they do that because it is just so detrimental to everyone around.

  • Absolutely not.The media would crucify them. For some reason Obama keeps getting a pass from the media. Here's an idea. Maybe he should just say "what he means" from the very start and not make asinine statements, then coming back later and say "what I really meant was". Even his explanation for the "typical white person" comment was racist. Implying that racism and fear of black people is bred into white people. He is constantly shooting himself in the foot and then trying to cover it up with a band aid. Hopefully he will come to the realization that he has no chance of winning the Presidency. Recent Gallup Polls show Clinton with the lead for the nomination, some by a substantial percentage.

    Edit: ABBMAMA

The legacy of slavery should not and does not give black people the right to be permanently ill mannered.

O-man cannot help himself--and the little racial slips give him away every time.

And no. No educated white or black or yellow or brown person would use such a statement if in a political arena.

It's like saying "those people" or "my people" or any other form of segregated racial charged saying. Obama cannot be excused for his words.

He is just like Wright--indoctrinated into whitie blackie civil war hangups.

Thank God he was uncovered for the man he really is.

Republicans don't care about race or sex, but about the economy, the laws, the commerce, and taxes: so as to maintain the capitalistic society we were built on.

The Democrats usually live a republican lifestyle while trying to make those who work for living support the needs of those who don't.

I think a more accurate question would be Would any of Today's WHITE Politican survive if any of them said "typical blacks?

To that I would say of course they would not survive, but alas we have a wonderful double standard because of injustices from years ago that *some black leaders* continue to ram down the throats of their followers, and unfortunately they believe it, Barak being a firm example of that.

No sir, their polls would drop faster than obamas and they would be ask to st drop out of the race. But ,it's seems anything Mr Obama chooses to do, is excepted.by some. But I think come November,The people will have the final say.But I would not advise a white man, to ever say typical black man..ever.

I am black and I think Obama said a stupid thing. I support Obama but that was not a smart use of verbage and I will be the first to say that froma media perspective he has been given a pass although I am not sure if many whites will be so generous.

I do understand what he was trying to say, just like I understood what Bill Clinton, Bill Cosby and Joe Biden was trying to say.

Sometimes people choose the wrong words and on a topic as sensitive as race it is easy to sterp on a mine because due to our history it is a minefield.

Much better than Obama is doing with these days. I can't imagine many republican voters having any problem with it.

As for your challenge:A typical black person harbors some resentment against white people in general for 200years of slavery and Jim Crow.

A typical black person works hard to support their family.

When you examine the context of what he said, Obama was talking about the "typical" white person in his grandmother's generation when they had seperate drinking fountains and had to ride in the back of the bus. It was poorly stated, but the spirit of the statement has been grossly exaggerated into something other than what it is.

Hell, No. What is a typical Black anyway? We know that a typical White is an opresser of the black man. Whites are not opressed, so there you go. I'm quite sick of it. I NEVER owned a slave, but I have to be thrown in the mix anyway. Same with the typical black thing. How many blacks do you think were actually related to a slave?
