Do Jehovahs witnesses all believe the same thing?

Do they teach the same thing in each Hall all over the world or is there differences in what is being taught from one, town, city or even country in the world?

Almost every denomination of Christianity can differ widely on its practices and even beliefs and style of worship depending on which pastor is leading, but are the witnesses like this?

Update:

I was told my somone on here that JWs believe different things depending on where they are, so was wondering if anyone else thought that this was true?

Update 2:

babyblue, please dont call me a liar!!

Someone emailed me and told me that "i needed to know" that all JW's learn and worship different things depending on where they are, just like other denominations do. I thought the best way to deal with that is to find out what the bro's and Sis's on here think and get a whole lot of views on it, not just mine. But you have raised a good point that on here people can "hide who they are", and as you are so young you need to be extra careful on here.

Pretty much what ever the Watchtower tells them to learn and believe.

The teaching received by JWs is the same the world over. All talks from the platform must conform to Society teaching. All public talks must be given from a Society outline (that is so exhaustive it leaves little room for anything else). Even answers given by JWs to questions from the platform must agree with what the Society has printed. No deviation from Society teaching is tolerated. The control exercised from headquarters is so strict that anyone holding to a differing belief on any point would either have to shut up and put up, or leave the organization.

This uniformity, which JWs boast about publicly, is not biblical, as even a cursory reading of the New Testament shows. Paul said there were many 'disputable matters' that should not be argued over. The Watchtower Society tolerates no dispute about anything. Christian denominations agree solidly on the foundational, important doctrines of the faith, but they respect others distinctives. Cultural differences are also absorbed in healthy Christian circles. But if any JW disagrees about anything, he dare not voice it publicly, so the real answer to your Q is, 'Yes, but only publicly.'

Yes we do all believe the same things. We obey the Bible where it says of true Christians to all speak in agreement. (1Cor. 1:10) Only the languages change from one Hall to another but the message is the same.

I see Deepndswamps to be true in his answer. We are different in that manner. Each of us has our own reason for coming to the truth and learn at different speeds according to our own abilities. Our memories are different in abilities as well. We all learn by study the basic principles of the bible then go deeper. How deep varies by individual.

If we find what we have believed has been in error due to our youth or misunderstanding, we correct the error. Much has been made over our past, a 100 years ago. Does anyone still believe the same as when we were young? Does anyone still believe babies come from a stork or under cabbage leaves? I hope not. According to some on R&S we all should though. They can't get over that we came out of false religion and it took time to throw out all the baggage that came with them. When we learned a practice was not according to what the Bible actually taught, we stopped. Why have they not stopped? There has been no lack of showing those from the religions claiming to follow the Bible what it plainly says, Why do they continue false religious pagan practices?

Do we all believe the same thing? Yes and no. We all believe the truth as found in the Holy Scriptures.

I believe that I can ride a motorcycle safely, others don't believe that. That's okay, because, despite what you may read one of the things that we are taught is to think and reason.

One does not become a witness by having been born into it nor does one become one by hearing a heart stirring sermon, running down to the altar saying "Yes, I believe!". It takes study and understanding.

And as has been said, we all study the same thing (perhaps not at the same time).

Most people have no concept of the feeling that you get when meeting someone that you don't know and knowing that that person is as close as a brother. Really amazing.

Hi, like the other Witnesses stated, yes, we all are united in the same belief throughout the world. Vot's experiences really illustrate this. I have moved a lot (within the US) and have always immediately felt right at home in my congregation and with my Brothers.

As far as what you were told, there are some principles in the Bible that allow for personal choice, matters where there is no black and white, things that are conscience matters. That is why some Witnesses may make different decisions in some areas, but yes, all of Jehovah's people are united in the core beliefs of Christian doctrine.

Just an observation..my friend is jw and she thinks Jesus n Satan are brothers. I've asked other jws and they said they don't believe that. I've noticed other opinions to be varied as well. I think all people have their own thoughts regardless of what religion they have.

Put simply, worldwide, all Jehovah's Witnesses are taught the same, follow the same practices, teach the same doctrines, and even on Sundays, around the world in roughly 270 lands, we study the same Watchtower. But who am I? See for yourself.

Not true... Jehovah's Witnesses believe the same things, teach the same things and even stay on track with what material is being studied at each congregation meeting all over the world and at the same time. If Jehovah's Witnesses in Arizona are studying out of a particular book, so are the Jehovah's Witnesses in Japan. It's a worldwide organization and it's not divided in "AnyWay".

  • Jehovah Witnesses all share the same bible teachings and before baptism they are required to answer questions reguarding their faith to be sure they qualify for baptism. The watchtower magazines are published in many languages so that the English and the African, Oriental, etc..magazines may not be read at the exact same week and the book study material may vary due to availability so sometimes the subject is varying in regards to time. However the informatin is the same no matter where in the world you go belief is unified. Public talks are given by different speakers who base their presentation on either guidlines or form. Our basic bible understanding is universal. We share in the same beliefs. re; variety of bible subjects, all are united in worship of Jehovah and accept Jesus as the only begotten Son of God. there are some land and countries where religion is under ban or due to logistic getting the current magazines in a timely fashion is not always achieved so some lands the current magazine that is being read at different times. Also there is more than one branch of the Watchtower as well as languages and needs for each country and the people who reside there.

EDIT:Since the MEPS project was undertaken in 1979, the computer industry has made extraordinary advances. Powerful personal computers with great versatility are now available at a fraction of the cost of the earlier equipment. To keep pace with the needs of its publishing work, the Watch Tower Society decided to make use of these personal computers, along with its own software. This greatly speeded up the production process. It also made it possible to provide the benefits of the publishing programs to more of the Society’s branches, and the number of branches using these quickly rose to 83. By 1992 the Watch Tower Society had, worldwide, over 3,800 terminals in which it was using its own computer programs. Not all the branches that are thus equipped do printing, but any branch that has a small computer and the Society’s software, along with a small laser printer, has the capability for prepress work on tracts, magazines, books, and any other printing that needs to be done

Could computerization also be used to give greater support to those doing the work of translation? Translators of Watch Tower publications now do their work, in most cases, at computer terminals. Many of these are at the Society’s branch offices.

As of 1992, various editions of the New World Translation were being printed on the Society’s presses in North and South America, Europe, and the Orient. A total of 78,924,338 volumes had been produced and made available for distribution. In Brooklyn alone, there were three huge high-speed web offset presses largely devoted to Bible production. Combined, these presses can produce the equivalent of 7,900 Bibles per hour, and at times it has been necessary for them to run an extra shift.

The edit information is pasted in part from the Proclaimers Book under the heading Printing and Distribution and Producing Literature for use in the ministry chapters 26 &27

This is a book published over 10yrs ago so the progress has increased to keep up with supply in demand.

  • Yes, we do. Just like all followers of the Lord Jesus Christ in the first century believed the same thing. Jesus did not teach different doctrines, and neither did his disciples.

The apostle Paul said that divisions and heresies would arise later, and so they did.

But the true teachings of Christ are there in the Bible for all to see, and for the wise to understand.
