My PlayStation wont read my disks or play the disk it just goes to the browser menu.?

Ours did that before. It probably needs cleaned out. My husband took ours apart and cleaned it and it worked again. I wouldn't do it though unless you have at least a little bit of knowledge about electronics. You can take it to a game store and they can do it for you.

It sounds like the dvd laser is a bit knackered. Might just be slightly out of place. It should be very simple to fix either buying a new laser and fitting it or taking it to a local electronics store (not currys dixons etc) and they should do it for ?10 - ?20.

P.S. 10 to 20 is WRONG. you need a licensed Sony PS2 person to deal with it which means 100 to 200 is more accurate

I had the same problem only my playstation was chipped and it was from a different country. The problem with mine was that the laser had stopped working. That is why it could not read the disk. It costs £50 to repair it and sometimes it still doesn't work. However, mine started working after i got it fixed.

When mine did that, my brother and I traded it in like nothing was wrong, got the money, went to the game store on the other side of the mall, and got a new PS2. : P

Get a cleaning disk and insert it, it'll clean all the stuff out and you'll be able to play again

It only cost $45 to send in and get fixed. That's better than buying a new one.

There might be dust or dirt on the reader inside of the console. You have to get the laser or what ever it is cleaned for it to work.

Take it apart clean it and if the rest is stuck clear it and if that don't work your laser is bad.

Try going to get it serviced that's all!! Go to where you bought it and tell them the problem,don't pay let them do it for free!!
