If I put gun to your head but don't shoot, did I save your life?

Isn't this what the christians believe? They think their god created sin, put that tree in the garden for adam and eve, and insists they love him. But they call it "saving" when he then doesn't punish you for things he created? (IThey do believe he created everything right?) I can not make sense of it. Can some one explain what makes them think not torturing a person is the same as saving?

Yeah, apparently conditional restraint from evil is grace.

I don't know. If I kick you in the @$$ to the left, and then kick you in the @$$ to the right, did I ever really kick you in the @$$ to begin with?

And whoever said that Christians believe that "God created sin". More of that atheist "interpretative analysis" at work, eh?

I like your analogy, but a simpler thing to compare it to would be how Christians say (for example):

"my plane crashed but I survived, so God saved me!" but don't say "God saved me!" when their plane never crashes in the first place...

so you're Tyler Durden, eh? saving the life of that clerk by telling him you'll kill him if he doesn't do what he always wanted to do?

    interesting question!

and yes, they believe he created everything. crazy logic...

I can understand how you could think you've saved my life.

If you put a gun to my head and don't shoot, who's going to save YOUR life? It won't be ME!

I actually think this is one of the best posts I've ever read in R&S.

    Your analogy is spot on.

Its not gods fault man used his freewill to destroy his perfect world. God told them not to do it, but they Just had to heed satan for some reason. Its man's fault not Gods.
