Absence to some extent, makes your heart grow fonder. but when it exceeds a certain limit, we just die of Regret for having even known that person. We undergo a terrible pain. A pain so unbearable, that we feel forgetting that person is just better than bearing this pain. Even anger dominates at certain time. Everything becomes totally unbalanced. We feel confused about everything.

Sometimes it makes the heart grow fonder until you see the person again a year later and realize that he's just a cheating, lying, manipulative, stupid azz mother fcker who you wish to see lying on the ground getting mercilessly stomped upon with steal tip boots as you stand on the side and laugh.
Sorry for the rant. Now I feel better.

I think it makes the heart grow fonder. Unless you really didn't love the person in the first place, then you just move on.

I have a friend who used to say, "Absence makes the heart grow yuch." I agree with her. That's what is known as "getting over" someone. You see him or her less, and therefore miss him or her less. I vote it makes the heart grow distant.

It depends on if it's really love (fonder) or just infatuation (distant), but mostly it just leads to frustration.

Absence can make the mind cast illusions and delusions, of which the heart can grow fond, only to be shattered by reality.
Not that I know. :)

It depends on the person and the situation (the reason behind the absence).

I think it depends on who you are absent from, and the relationship itself
if it is not tended to, i think it has a good chance of growing apart
but if you maintain the relationship properly, distance is nothing.
