  • What kind of bugs would be biting ankles at work, indoors?

We've had several people getting bitten on their lower legs/ankles at work. The bites look small, blotchy, and red. Some people have several bite marks and one person seemed to be having an allergic reaction to the bites.

We work in a very large carpeted room divided into sections, only people in certain sections are getting bitten. the bites seemed to have increased in frequency with the warm weather.

Does anyone have any idea what type of bugs could be causing this. They had a pest control agency come in and put glue traps down, but the only things they have caught look like flying bugs that would not just bite ankles/lower legs. People said they have also seen some small green bugs, but I don't know of any small green bugs that would cause these kind of bites. We are in a fairly moderate climate area in western Pennsylvania.

The only thing I can think that would cause these bites would possibly be fleas or chiggers, but no one has seen any yet. But it makes sense because both of these insects would definitely leave bite marks on the ankles.

If anyone has any other ideas of what type of bug may be causing these bites, please let me know and I will at least know where to start investigating.

    Thank you in advance.

  • Is it bad when mushroom grow under your Japanese maple?

We planted a baby one it last year and it's doing great. but there are mushrooms growing up through the mulch under the tree. They look like very thin stemmed and thin capped mushrooms with the vents on the top of the cap, they are tan-ish and grow to be about 3 inches high. I don't know if this is bad or if I should do something to get rid of them.

  • Is there a difference between Havaiana's and other flip flops?

I'm just trying to see if the high price they are asking is justified. Thanks.

  • Should I replace my 2 bridesmaids?

I have 2 cousins I asked to be brides maids... I have 7 altogether. They have not made any of the meetings to discuss the wedding that the other bridesmaids did. My wedding is almost exactly 1 month away.

They are still waiting for me to take them to the store and buy their dresses, and shoes, and jewelry.

They did not make it to my Bridal Shower this weekend because they said one had to watch her godchild and the other had to "wash"... whatever that means (clothes or herself). They told the Maid of Honor they couldn't make it 2 hours before the shower and the other bridesmaids had to scramble around at the last minute to buy the things they said they would.

I love them and I don't want to hurt their feelings, but I can't spend time up until the morning of the wedding wondering if they will even show up. I still want them to come to the wedding as guests, I just can't deal with them as bridesmaids right now.

I can replace them, but would that be the right thing to do?

  • Why do I feel like I was wrong putting my dog down?

I had a 11 year old Rottie/Boxer Mix, the best dog ever. He had leukemia and could only walk about 50 feet without collapsing. His white blood cell level was off the charts. He drank water but hadn't eaten in 3 days. ...But, he was still fully aware of his surroundings, he wagged his tail and walked over to people he liked and still basically understood what we said to him, like "c'mon, lets go for a ride" or "go outside". I didn't want him to suffer anymore so I had him put down. But I feel like I did it too soon now. has anyone else ever felt like this?

  • If there is mold on the bottom of a pineapple, is the inside still good?

It is moldy, at the bottom a little where it was attached to it's stem I guess. The inside looks/smells OK though. Is it still good if I just cut the bottom off or should I throw it all away?

  • Is there a difference between garden mums & hearty mums?

We bought some mums about a month ago, but all the flowers eventually died & they look horrible. My aunt said what I should have bought was hearty mums if I was looking to buy a flower that would bloom into the fall. Is there a real difference between the two or did I just by bad ones?

  • What is the purpose of putting chips and oil on some roads in hotter weather?

I'm sure there is a reason, but I don't know it. They just seem to make vehicles slide around more than usual.

  • Could you recommend a good dog obedience book?

We just adopted a 2 year old lab mix from the shelter, he is OK in almost everything else except walking on a leash. I need a book that someone has used before and had successful results with.

...Oh and any dog walking training techniques would be helpful too.

    Thank you so much.

  • What items or images remind you of the beach?

I'm decorating my bathroom in a beach theme. I need ideas for some pictures, even if the images, even if they are out of the ordinary.

    Thank you!

  • What would be an approximate price for moving an indoor gas meter to outside?

Just wondering what a ballpark figure may be. The gas meter is in the basement, but the wall that it's on is not covered by the ground outside. So it would probably just be moved to the outdoor side of the same wall.

I know every situation could be different, I was just wondering if anyone has has something similar done and what they paid.

  • I need good ideas for a theme for a brown bathroom, please?

My boyfriend has his heart set on painting our bathroom brown. I am having a really hard time thinking of a theme. I was thinking maybe seashells, lighthouses, or another beach theme. Whatever the theme, I will be painting the border myself. Any ideas? Thank you in advance.

  • What causes a musty smell from a drain?

Just moved into a house last month. A musty smell comes up from the double kitchen sink drains when you pour water down there. There is no garbage disposal. I tried pouring clorox down the drain, it works for a few hours but then the smell comes back. It's not a very strong smell, but I definitely know its there. There's no leaks under the sink. I am sure the smell is coming from the drain.

Anyone know what causes this or what I can do to get rid of it? I'm sick of using candles to mask it instead of just treating the problem.

  • Tuna OK for a ferret until tomorrow?

I just realized my ferret is out of food. I thought I had an extra bag, but I don't or I can't find the darn thing. I have some canned tuna. Would that be OK for him until I can get to the pet store tomorrow morning?

  • Why is babybel cheese so expensive?

It just seems like a lot of money for such a small quantity of cheese. Is it the packaging or are you basically paying for just the name?
