Why is the Fox network allowed to make negative comments about right wing politicians?

Why are they allowed to hurt people from their own side?

Shouldn't they just stick to doing what they're there for?

Update:

I need this for a school assignment on journalism.

A big reason that they're "allowed" to do this is because currently there is almost two "Right Wing" groups, so to speak. These would be the Moderate Republicans and the Far Right Republicans. So, in short, what Fox spends a copuous amount of time doing is propagandizing the far right and bashing the middle ground.

For example, Bush and Co. would be considered far right. The easiest way to identify a moderate republican would be to find out whether or not he's what the White House calls a "Bushie". If they're not a "Bushie", odds are they're probably a moderate.

But, of course, such a question is fairly subjective, and thusly the answer is as well.

Don't ever be fooled by the right/left illusion again. All of media is owned by 6 people/corporations all of which have right wing agendas. The idea that we have a liberal media is one of the biggest lies ever sold. Although its true that many reporters or anchors in print or on tv may lean "left" its not like they are allowed to report on anything they want. One guy in editing or programming controls which stories make the news or print. And these guys all follow the script handed down from the top or they are gone. This works its way down to on air talent.......If a personality is to populist, or covers hard news its only a matter of time till they are off the air. Low ratings or blackballed

Jesus, I could go on forever......The best case is really maid in a documentary called "Orwell rolls in his grave" its been playing on "link TV" 375 on directv.

Bottom line all news stories are by "official" sources and they choose what is covered because they only talk about what they want to cover. Right/left, red/blue, lib/con is all an illusion of choice. Both parties represent the riches 1%.

Despite what Fox critics will say, Fox news is fair and balanced. If a conservative is in the news they will report it just like they would for anyone else.

You will find that true for most of the talk show hosts including Rush, Hannity, Boortz, Levin and Savage. They have no problem calling conservatives on the carpet.

And that is the way it should be.

Your premise is wrong. Conservatives criticize other conservatives all the time. Case in point Coulter V McCain.

What you may be getting at is that when conservatives talk generally they speak about issues instead of calling people names and resorting to appealing to peoples class resentment or race baiting.
